So Sony delayed it to get a newer firmware on the disc? Does this imply another delay coming on?
What exactly is it? Just downgrader to 3.41? If legit, this is a good achievement, but you still wont be able to run SDK 3.50 compiled games.
And regardless of the PS3 scene, i doubt Sony is gonna delay it another time.
Yes but if we can downgrade more than once with our jailbreak devices then I will be able to buy and play GT5 and then downgrade if and when I need my jailbreak again.
Great news imo
get second ps3 to play new games? besides cod bo got cracked eve tho it was 3.50
Yeah could be messy cod wasn't compiled with 3.50 just edited to require 3.50 which was easily edited to run. GT5 will most definitely be compiled with 3.50 and why the delay in release.

Not quite, because everytime you down grade your hdd would wipe, so you would need 2 hdds on 2 different firmwares to keep all your saves and games

I'm not sure about the downgrade process yet, but i'm sure upgrading the firmware does not wipe the hdd, why would downgrading wipe the hdd?

I'm thinking that the downgrade process involves wiping the HDD as some of the newer PS3's store some of the files on the internal HDD. So they've made all of the ps3's store those files now. Stupid $ony. I've got two internal drives, one I use for Jailbroken use, the other online use. Haven't had any problems yet...

Wrong. BO works with more than editing param.sfo to 3.41. We needed to have a decrypted executable for this game, using the debug update. GT5 would work the same, but sadly GT5 updates are stored on some special server, not Sony's server (like GT5 Prologue).
Finally, GT5 isn't compiled with 3.50, so basically we get smbdy to manage to decrypt 3.50 eboots, then we can use it on 3.41 (hardest part).

Can´t believe it doesn´t have better damage modeling. Can´t understanf how anyone can´t be disappointed with that and the pinball that ensues.
I'm personally underwhelmed by what I've seen from the full game in those terms, *but* something doesn't add up. The earlier demonstrations shown various stages of damage modelling from debris & panel dislocation, to deformation, to scractches, sparks, dirt (etc)... Mechanical damage in its infancy was also witnessed in early demo builds... but the damage we've seen so far doesn't fit that model, or how it has been described by both the media and PD themselves.
On the forums people are speculating that because all of the damage footage is coming from Arcade Mode - which doesn't have adjustable options for damage or physics - that it is a toned down model and that the real damage is hidden deeper in GT Life. But if that's true, why is there some videos where NO damage whatsoever occurs to cars from roll overs? The Czech people tell us there is no option to enable OR disable damage. It doesn't add up, ergo I'm confused and unable to come to conclusions - so until it's in my hands (or someone does a proper in-depth write up on the game) I'm going to reserve judgement.
...and I agree fully with Surray. Damage modelling is not necessary at all. iRacing doesn't even do proper damage modelling yet and it hasn't hurt it's reputation as a serious sim - and yes you could even wall ride in one instance, just like various other sims in the past
*in the meantime the excitement, confusion and the anxiety will eat away at me. 24th can't come soon enough!
guy sounds like he has sex with cars
epic video nonetheless
game seems to use high lvl of aa or la or wtv it's called on ps3, guess all those years they were more busy polishing it visually rather than bringing something new like real life damage and stuff, gonna leech nonetheless

I literally didn't read anything about this game until just the other day so I might be wrong, but... I think I read that only about 200 cars are going to be new and support damage, have better details, and the rest will not?
Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC , Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms
That's wrong, you can customise standard cars too, just not to the same extent. They also feature damage (both visual and mechanical) along with updated physics and if I'm not mistaken sounds (don't trust early demonstration footage, they kept the updated sounds for the final version). From some early screenshots of the full game damage is also in the form of deformation for standard cars too - so not just scratches, dents and dirt as we expected.
Also, 'only' 200 cars, or even 'only' 20 cars is being a bit dramatic.

It's from last years F1 intro on the BBC.
They use it each year, beginning of the season.
you can change the colour and rear spolier on standard cars and thats it. and ONLY 200 cars for a game that has been in development for 5 years is just disappointing. Plus the half assesed damage model, may aswell just left it out altogether coz its just not realistic. Game wasnt really crying out for damage, but to put it in half assed makes it look stupid.
I sure am glad that shit does not bother me pretty insignificant comapared to what the game has to offer
but haters gonna hate tho
Agreed, a realisitc damage model would be nice but it would soon be overlooked once the novelty of destroying the car has worn off. as it is i think it is quite adequate, and if you are destroying the car that much then you aint driving right, and that is what this sim is about right?!? driving

Surely the point of it being a racing sim if you dont drive right you get penalised, this will just reward bouncing off other cars to take corners and when u smash into a barrier you wouldntbe penalised, regardless of whether u hit it at 1 mph or 100 mph, I just cant believe its taken 5 years to deliver this

No on that point you are totally right, in the video's i have seen so far, it does seem that the bouncing off cars is exactly the same as all previous turismo games which is unforgivable in GT5..
I just hope running on grass ect is modeled better!
Apparently this is the message one of the Czech players gets trying to access the museum... Wording of that is very explicit. Wonder what it means for that 'version' of the game. I know it means more confusion before the release date for sure
Also, some shots of damage, and a higher resolution phototravel shot.
Does this mean that I get this as a free gift-with-purchase?
Spoiler:
Interesting. Very interesting.
