Doubt its because of that, as there is NOT A SINGLE TOPIC about it on either steam or cod forums. If you got banned for it, it woudnt had been only you but loads more, and loads more would had raged....

Actually no. They banned just now. IF they banned for rankhack that is.
Because atleast they knew with MW2 it wasn't clients fault if they got rankhacked due to matchmaking.
No sane developer would do that. But then again, it's all going through Steam so...

can someone explain what this alterops is?
googled it and came up with some site that didn't give too much information, is this some sort of reality/pro mod or something?

As I understand it, it's basically cracked dedi's for Black Ops.
They've also got another one called AlterIW, which is like cracked dedi's for MW2.
