Now, what a moronic statement. "Most gamers", what the fuck do you know about "most gamers"?
First of all, and this is just guessing: "Most gamers" (on the PC) are probably between the ages 14-21, that is a fair guess... the most popular game between those ages is... you guessed it: Counter Strike. Counter Strike is an MP-game (if you missed that).
Then theres thousands and thousands more who play RTCW: Enemy Territory, Battlefield 1942, Planetside, Anarchy Online, Star Wars: Galaxies, Command & Conquer 3, War Craft 3, EVE-Online, among many many - MANY more.
Saying "Most gamers do NOT play MP" is about as dumb as saying "640KB should be enough for everyone".
But that's just what I think.

1%?, I'd rather say 0,001% ... the rest are smacktards that couldn't tell the difference between the monitor and a harddrive anyway. Those people best stay away from this game anyhow, seeing it requires rudimentary cognitive functions for playing it without complaining about it's level of detail.

Multiplayer is different
if u actually go read the forum they said
"Just to clear things up, the CD Key isn't used as a protection in MP games."

Yeah, but I'm asking if the MP require an unique key, or is it like IL2, with key or shit check...

No you do'nt need a unique key for multi. The game is IP join only right now. I think they are fixing the server browsing stuff.
The key they posted is just for starforce. One for US and one for UK
There seems to be a few work arounds to get this to work so if u guys want to discuss em and get some multi coop going join #showw2 on efnet.

I've seen many ask for impressions in this thread yet people keep rambling on about the sf3 protection and stuff. Isn't this thread about the game itself?
Anyway, when I played the demo I said, I've found my self a new favourite game. I got my copy yesterday and I'm not disappointed at all. On the contrary, the fixes they have made to the game since the demo (after all, the demo was 80 % complete) balance the game even further.
The missions, though a bit empty on tanks IMO, never tire me. The sneaking around buildings and taking cover while using correct weapons for the correct situation is really fun, and there is nothing frustrating so far (the game is really hard, but since it's pure fun, I don't mind trying the same mission over and over again).
No major bugs yet, except the keys stop working sometimes, forcing me to shut down the game through the task manager, I noticed this in the demo as well.
I'm working on the last mission in the third of the four campaigns, and I'm pretty much devoured by the game.
Furthermore, even though the game has been rated and reviewed with pretty good marks in game magazines and sites, and even though many say the game is really great, there aren't many people playing it now (judging from forum activity on different sites). The reason for this is probably obvious...

Do you like Close Combat Bubba?
I played the demo as well, is that mission representative of the rest of the game? There doesn't seem to be much point beyond overcome huge armys with just 3 or 4 men?
Is there a singleplayer mission & map editor or even a good skirmish mode for the AI? I'm not big on multiplayer so I would like this kind of features especially when the singleplayer is not too my liking.

When I say most gamers don't play MP I do know what I'm talking about I have designed and worked on bit computer games that alot of you have played, I have been in the computer/game world from 1985 on, I have forgot about more games than you kids have played. MP suck.

Let me put it like this: if I could decide, I would choose a different level for the demo. A big part of the game is you with 2-5 soldiers, in an environment that often has a lot of cover and buildings, making use of these and progressing through the level. It's a lot of fun, to designate your soldiers for different tasks, (for example, steal a MG from some bike and make one of your soldiers the gunner, and get a rifle with the other and so on) and have them cover each other whenever there is some group of enemies by that bench or some sniper behind that window.
Of course, there are a few "frontal attack-type" missions. What would a WW2 game be like without those?
You start out with two tank crew guys among some smoking tank wrecks and dead bodies, equipment and weapons spread all around on the ground. Your soldiers are equipped with a pistol each and some health kits. Scavenge what you can and head for some ruins where two fellow russians are under attack by a german mounted machine gun and swarms of soldiers who keep getting reinforced every minute. It's up to you to make use of your stuff, often stealing from dead enemy bodies.
The demo level can be selected as a separate single player mission. And if you ask me, there's not much trying out the game with the small amount of resources you get in the demo. You don't even have time to prepare any type of defenses before the enemies arrive.
As for your second question, there are 8 or so skirmish missions, the demo level being one of them, and they are quite a challenge on medium and hard difficulties, and you get the chance to try out some interesting tanks and such. There should be a map editor, and even if there isn't they should release it with patches later. I've read an article by someone quite known in the modding community who happened to live nearby Codemaster's HQ and got invited to a tour. He wrote that the map editor was very good and easy to use. I can only imagine

I bought it a few days ago @ EB it's not too bad alot different than most rts's and the install went a little weird i had to disable both antiv and firewall or i got the wrong disc error, but it installed fine after that,
the training is pretty cool, but a little difficult to tell friend from foe, i shot one of my own in the training hehe, the first mission is a test for sure the lighthouse your in the drink and have to make your way to land and dodge the spotlights once the lights hit you and your moving your dead, all in all worth the $30, i got tired of waiting on the scene to try it, i personally don't trust demo's too much, but another fine release from codemasters even though they dwell in sf3,,, have fun, ps the game is 2 cd's jfyi......

Here's an easy fact to remember, GAME COMPANIES DO THEIR FREAKING HOMEWORK. If most gamers WOULDN'T be playing online, online games would more or less suck or cease to exist, since there would be no reason to make online play, if only a minority played.
