it's just a fucking game, not servers of a bank company.
he also said that he can (quote) : "run ANY CODE on people's computer"
in public chat. while i see this kinda creepy at first sight,
it is only an idea, and one must look further and think why did he even say that. perhaps he wanted to feel uber.
haven't you sometimes bragged with your friends you can
"bring this computer down if you wanted?",
"fight, smack this guy and send him to hell?",
"destroy the school??"
"conquer this girl?"
"smack those eggs?"
"bring the big hotdog to the bonez zone?"
"run ANY CODE"?.....
while that bragging is immature and stupid, as he is in the position of a big project moderator. this sentence was brought out of proportions by many attackers.
essentially, people are literally DESTROYING the guy.
why, you may ask? because now, with his stupid mistake, because his need to feel uber, because his immaturity, or whatever, which
i do not see the significant malware/virus/backdoor/whatever crap people
are exaggerating about, now the guy would have charges placed upon,
and perhaps records that would make the guy's life worse, would prevent him from getting many jobs, FOREVER.
The guy is probably lives now in terror, waiting for police to come to his house,
he did not cause any harm, and never meant anything bad.
come on, show some sympthy, and have mercy upon him.
note : i only wanted to show my own positive point of view, and since i don't want to turn this post into an argument - i'm sure other people feel different,
i will not answer to any replies regarding this post. but i will read them all. |
Fuck that. Who cares if the dude is gay? That doesn't change the fact that he's a royal douchebag. How can you even justify putting in a hidden backdoor into someone's computer. That's bullshit. If you still think that Cartoon is giving a flying fuck about this MCServer guy after reading those, well, then you're pretty naive, said in a friendly manner.
To be clear, I've read your entire post and I get your point. But for me, this is no excuse for coding in a backdoor. If he is so Uber like he thinks he is, then he should have known better that coding a backdoor into his software isn't the best idea. No surprise that those guys are angry.

Okay 52 odd pages and not sure where to start... Seems there are 2 version of this game? Classic... which as I understand he is stopping support for and ALPHA?
I dont understand this game, everyone seems to rave it and I wanted to give it a try, however I'm confused (easily confused) tutorials online go on about hacking trees, getting stuff in inventory building things to make tools etc.
The classic version is basically just a pre generated world and loads of materials to build and piss about it? There is not real point to it apart from exploring?
Am I correct in this assumption?
then there is alpha which you have to buy? What if I think its poo? Why buy this... I am fairly sure most of you havent bothered to buy it.. lol..
Do you play single player or is there a mass server somewhere you all play on with a cracked version?
Would be interested in trying this, if there is some information amongst this thread which not sticky it at the beginning to people know how to go about getting started which version to grab etc..
Hope for a response.

Does he actually try the game before releasing updates? Looks like most of these problems are stuff he would have noticed had he as much as entered the game in SMP. Rather sloppy work.
