They're Americans. Getting out and walk isn't even an option.
+ ABS wasn't really introduced there until recently and only a minority of American cars have ABS. And they're most likely driving with summer tires, not dubbed winter tyres. So they're like Bambi on the ice when they're victims of slippery roads. And obviously they don't know anything about driving when slippery.
I see some push the pedal to the metal in an effort to get control which obviously has the opposite result since spinning/skidding tyres just makes everything worse. And without ABS, breaking is futile as well, it will just make the whole car skid sideways.
