FYI: What is not shown in that gif is that literally a minute before that crash the dude ran down one of those cops buddies standing on the side of the road. I would have beat him too.

This happens all the time on those cop shows where they jump on the guy even when he's not resisting. I would hate to be in a situation like that where some raged-up cop is pointing a gun at me and shouting instructions rapidly. They sound so incoherent and panicked.
As for the 'you don't know what he did' argument, that's not apprehending or arresting but plain old vigilante revenge.

And that justifies what? The police should be the first ones to obey the laws. If the guy did something wrong it is their duty to get him and bring him into court. And not to kick and punch the shit out of him when he is already lying on the ground... |
