Ever thought of using the equalizers that come with other apps? Sounds to me like WMP applies a heavy bass/treble by default. And you do realise that means it's probably distorting your sound to begin with? 
I dunno though, I haven't used WMP since like 8 or 9 probably. It was aweful then, and since I really find the interface annoying and unnatural I've never bothered to even try the later versions.

Ahaaa...
Ive got rainmeter as a winamp skin (which you can see far to the right and at the bottom).
I kind of like winamp - been using it since the 90's. I know there are programs which proberbly have better sound, but this one has everything I want.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

I also reinstalled recently and im allways looking for some nice wallpapers. I allways use the slide to not get bored that easily
So below i packed all wallpapers i currently have for the ones who are interested. Some are reallly awesome and some i still need to cut out but maybe you like them.
