First of all, check your firewall and/or antivirus software settings, try to disable them before starting the game. Second, be sure to check all of your drivers/DirectX/Service Packs to be the latest. And the last one, download, install and update Punkbuster software from Evenbalance.com, there is a program there, called PBSetup, use it

People say BC2 is a good (mp) game, so I'm considering buying it.. but paying 40 euro on steam is kinda overkill when it costs 20 on ea download thingy. But I don't want it on EA Download thingy since that thing sucks donkey balls.. any place I can get steam version cheaper?

I got a BF2 complete pack from that EA thingy, and never really got it working.. struggled days with invalid key, slow download, buggy, crashy etc.
I hate you.

I bought a cheap key, activated the game on EA Download manager and never had a problem, but maybe I've been just lucky

UL - never had any hassle except when I bought a BF2 complete key from a twat selling dupes. Got my money back tho and all other EA keys I had worked flawlessly inc. BFBC2 with great DL speeds and no need to run Steam or be forced to pay Steam's price for the Vietman expansion either.
If your game was flaky it was probably not down to the EA DL service in any case.

Same here, bought a key for MoH Tier1 and have had no problems with their service at all |

I bought a Bad Company key on G2play.net and downloaded it from EA store. Nothing wrong with that service in my opinion, in fact when I logged on I could redownload Mass Effect 2 if I wanted to. Just like on Steam. I'm glad there's alternatives to Steam because monopolies has never ever in the history of mankind served anyone but those who holds the monopoly. With that said I really like Steam.

you have on zavvi, shoptop and sendit for 15euros retail copy of bfbc2
mine just came, works like charm

I just found out last night that vista had a sp2.....
I can run all games on highest settings this past year except metro2033, and bfbc2 (mp) but after updating to sp2 I can play bf on dx10, high settings with 2xAA with an average 50-60fps with lots of 150+ and lowest 35-40. fucking flawless play now.
I could only play on dx9 with some high and medium settings before.
wow i can believe I missed a service pack, I owe it to iNatan, I was checking out his sticky and reading up on checking what build my OS was and I just was thinking, "i wonder if there was a sp2 bf I upgrade to win7" and there was lol

i am sure win 7 64bit will help even more with your fps

you have no buisness on vista get orf it and get on win7x64
