What exactly is in the settings :

SHADER WARMING ?

It preloads the shaders to eliminate hitching during gameplay that is present on systems with graphics cards such as nvidia's GTX 4x0.

It didn't really work on mine. Stutters all over the place yet.

It's a shame Sad
I expected there would be plenty of players joining in on the fun... I guess a small group of player can find some space on other servers.

Is it possible that the only reason the game stutters so much on my machine could be that I use an on-board sound device instead of using a real sound card? I'm sick of trying different stuff to get this game to run while all other games run smoothly. With my GTX 460 now I can even max out Metro 2033 on DX11, and this piece of crap still stutters.

sounds is a big problem with the game for many yes..

it now works fine though for me with my xfi extreme music card or usb logitec headset.

make sure u do a /snd_restart in console every start of game sometimes twice if u still hear any popping or crackling, those sounds are normaly down to latency issues with the hardware.

try using Timerresolution app and hit the maximumbutton before every time you load up blackops to play.

http://www.lucashale.com/timerresolution/

http://www.lucashale.com/timerresolution/TimerResolution.zip

^^ i had issues with that file download it would not show the exe properly in the zip file..

you can google the file though and find it on a site regarding counter strike.. or other places, version 1.2 is fine you dont need the pay for version 2.0..

this will ensure your latency is at about 0.480milliseconds all the time, my std was 15.0 milliseconds and ive seen a difference it seems playing blackops with it set to 0.480 now and forced to stay that way...

Not really. Sound Blaster Audigy SE here. And sound being messy and stuttering real often. Post about it:

It's surprising that the server is almost all the time empty. So many members own the game and it's quite a good community on the forum, the game itself is very good ... so there's no explanosion why the server is not full of NFO members ...

True Story!

I don't care about multiplayer. It's my single player which stutters so much it's unplayable.

I tried to join a few times in the past but could never find it unfortunately Sad. Now you can use the console connect command to find and join the server, but i've since lost interest in this game over the time it has taken them to patch it. meh
Thanks still go out to Ankh, for running a server for humpers tho.

Only with servers that are registered with demonware service.
"/connect" asks the service first if there are any servers registered on that IP and then connects.

Patch fixed my stuttering, and random 3-5 second long freezes.

Can finally play the game 1 month later.

No more fucking killstreak stacking is the best thing ever. It's so easy to stack up to a spree of 25 in MW2, but to get a spree with kills that count in BO is much harder.

On the downside, spawning is completely and utterly fucked up Sad
