I wonder if they're going to be patched up (except from translation).. Precursors was quite interesting, but the mouse control was just terrible, stopped playing because of it.. I never understood the perks either, there wasnt an option that i could find to see which ones you had, and the same perks was always available to select when leveling up, no matter if you had already selected that perk previously, very odd.

Well I loved every minute of it...especially precursors. Xenus 2 was good too,but I'm more of a space lover. Very Happy

I do hope they release it soon(no info on GG atm though) and do a proper translation, but I'm not holding my breath. Voice acting is bound to suck, but as long as I understand those cutscenes then I'm ok.

thanks bro;) guess i will give it a try.

Will they actually be fixing White Gold? My understanding was that the Russian/Ukranian release was very buggy, they never fixed it and then went bust?

Precursors doesn't have any protection? A release for each should be here anytime now, I think. I tried Xenus 2 some time ago in russian, but I couldn't understand shit. Precursors, on the other hand, didn't even heard about it, until I first saw this thread.

Sound archive is 360 MB, strange since the Russian version is at 1.8 GB, I guess most of the content is unvoiced then but that's somewhat expected, perhaps utilizing both can be done as well.

EDIT: It's packed much better as well with far less lose files.

So is it worth getting the english version, or the russian version with the patch? This game looks really interesting.

I bought it (precursors) it has some interesting translations, these other soldiers insists on calling me "Private Soldier" so apparently my last name is Soldier, I wonder if my first is Man, The or That.

It's more or less like what I wrote above, there is voice acting where necessary (cutscenes as those can't display subtitles.) however overall it's much reduced from the Russian original, this wasn't exactly a high budget effort but as far as I'm aware funding has been problematic so money is sparse, games themselves are more or less untouched aside from some minor alterations but they still hold up fairly well and they're good, translation itself could be better but one can choose to use the unofficial translation as well.

EDIT: Xenus 2 is a bit messed up, using Trivium's exe will work but don't use anything else as that'll break the game, seems to reference both SecuROM and Star-Force so it's sorta buggy but using this as a workaround will function.
(Similar to Far Cry 2 most of the functionality is in the .dll files and not the exe.)

EDIT: That flickering fix can still be useful.

No unfortunately these are version 1.0 as the 1.1 patches for both games have newer files minus the copy protection related ones, though you can apply parts of those patches and still play to fix the majority of issues present in the game that the patch fixed.

Precursors patch is better of as it mostly solves minor stuff but Xenus 2 can be a bit buggy.

So, these are pretty useless releases for those that have the russian patched versions. Both translations to english are decent now and games are fully playable with minor bugs.

Unfortunately with the exception that the crack for those, unless you use the clone disc image, are based on version 1.0 so you'll get a number of issues due to using those older files with the patched data though as of the latest Daemon Tools release there's no issues with using clone images. Smile

EDIT: Said problems are pretty minor though.

why do you even care guys? both games are buggy crap.

... and they're just sooo B-movie (or C?) and not AAA in general, like 99% of russian games

I enjoyed Boiling Point a lot though that game was buggy and somewhat poorly balanced, Precursors and Xenus 2 both improve upon this though they're fairly similar aside from the setting.

Unfortunate that the company got these financial issues or how it was and that the translation and localization took such time but the games both hold up pretty well.

Also seems Trivium released keygens some time ago so the patch and unofficial translation should work better, didn't know that but just looked it up, interesting.

Not at all like Mass Effect 2, now that was a proper AAA hollywood like production right.

JB, you're the most tolerant player I know Very Happy Trying to see something good in a pile of crap!

And it's not even bugs I'm talking about but the general non-professionalism of the devs, horrible game design and lack of polish or attention to details.
