one of my TB drives is packed.. the other is not so much, is there a defrag program that will work together with my not so filled drive and make the defrag process quicker, instead of moving 200mb of a file to one location, then the other 1.3 gig to another and then somehow in the end put them all together.. rob peter to pay paul, poor peter has nothing to give.. lol

if anyone understands, then any ideas.. have quite a few of these to get in order and would make it easier on the drives and quicker for me.

thanks

edit.. looks like its gonna take 1day3hrs using OO.. if no program that can utilize another slave drive to speed it up exists.. any hot tips would be usefull, thanks again

I never heard of such a thing, I doubt any app can manage it. With what is that TB drive filled? If it's all movies and such, few gigs a piece, don't even bother with defragmenting. Defragmenting only your system and games drives/partitions should be enough.

there was alot of moving with the drive.. ive also heard that defraging ever so often will make the data integrity on the disk better.. watch the same movie every day for a year.. something happens with the magnet or smth, makes the data weak on those sectors so replace new in old and visaversa ... could be talking out of my ass, but im sure ive heard its good to defrag every drive even if files are huge...

OT.. wonder why it cant be an option, seems like it would relieve stress on the stylus.. and its allways faster to read from one and write to the other... anyway thanks

Stylus? Hehe, it isn't an old vinyl player, it uses multiple magnetic heads on several spinning discs.

Anyway, I'd move 400mb to the other drive, defrag the first and then move the 400mb back.
