And I was just talking about dreamcast because it *is* a better system function/graphics wise then PS2 or gamecube. |
This goes beyond fanboyism. Yes, you finally proved to me you are a SEGA fanboy. But you also proved ignorant. How in the hell can the DC have better graphics than the GC and PS2? Now if you said better games, that'd be your opinion. But saying the DC had better graphics as a fact is just fucked up.

NFL2k1 for dreamcast looks just as good as any new football game i've seen on PS2 or gamecube (xbox is a different story), not to mention dreamcast had excellent expansion options, and the VMU was a great idea. Choosing plays on your VMU when your playing 2 player on the same TV was great. To be honest with you though dreamcast was the console system i've purchased, and will probally remain the last one ever purchased.

Why would you not want to want to buy another console system ever again? Is it that you dont think it'd live up to Dreamcast? So? I love the NES and I still would purchase other systems. Thats what being a gamer is all about. Who knows, maybe SEGA will one day make a new console. Even though I doubt it because they dont have the funs for it nor are they that big of a game developing company.
I did however enjoy the last House Of The Dead. House Of The Dead III was short, but sweet. The ending was longer than I expected it to be though which is good.

I wouldnt buy another console system because all the companies, including nintendo are ripping off their consumers. They are releasing to many new console systems way to fast, thus encouraging another game crash of 83' to happen.

Thats exactly why I use my tactic. I wait for a system to come out to see the launch titles and the games that will be out on the system. I'm not going to buy a system thats going to die soon. Nintendo screwed themselves when they released the GameCube and NDS. They should of sticked to their GBA instead of going off to compete with the PSP with its DS. Also, just because one company releases a console too fast doesnt exactly mean others will follow. Sony, no. Microsoft, maybe. Nintendo, yea. I mean it could happen, but theres soo many investors today in the video game market that that wont happen. Its more like its an impossible thing to happen, BUT it could happen. Its just very difficult. With all the billions of dollars the companies make today, and the slewth of developers that work for them, its impossible. If anything, Nintendo would screw themselves. I cant see this happening to Microsoft as much because they make things other than games and consoles. Same goes for Sony.

Nintendo in no way screwed them selves with the DS, just look at its sales. It is making a nice profit. The PSP on the other hand is costing sony money every time someone buys it. The DS probally costs around $127 for nintendo to make since it does use older technology, but the fact that it is so unique in its games is what is saving it.

I would agree with you, but the fact that the PSP costs $250, and the fact that the game would be $50, doesnt seem worth it.

well most psp games are 40$ while the average on ds games is at 35$
so i wouldnt say its much of a difference, the psp itself is 100$ more expensive than the ds, yes thats alot, but still its a one-time thing, regarding the vast difference in graphics between psp and ds i wouldnt say its too much.
i have a gba sp with a flash cartridge and am perfectly happy with it, now if i were to buy a new handheld, it d have to be a bigger leap than ds offers me,
see the 2d graphics of the ds are hardly better than on gba, while the screen is too small for the 3d graphics, so for me there is no good reason to get a ds.
but in the end opinions...

The only problem with the PSP so far is the deficint hardware. Its the screens where black spots show up. Sonys already working on the screens by sending owners who have these problems new PSPs. Actually the PSP isnt costing Sony jack on profits. There was a case of that with the XBox. But that was only for a few months. It was because NVidia was overpricing their XChips. So they had to compete with Sony and lowered the price of their XBox. So everytime Microsoft sold a unit, they lost profit. This isnt happening to Sony now. Why would Sony damage themselves when their investing 400 million in graphics alone for the PS3? This was different with XBox because of NVidia. And I'm not reading anywhere now that this is happening to Sony. So please even explain the area where Sony's PSP is costing more to make per unit than the profit of selling a unit?
You cant estimate the cost of the NDS. You have to actually show how much it does cost to make if your going to say Sony is losing on a profit... yet it just came out and I've heard nothing on it.
The only thing that is true so far is that the DS has made more money so far. But hey, so would did the PS2 when it came out awhile before the XBox. But that doesnt exactly matter since the PSP is out now and the proof is in the sales. No matter what out sells the other doesnt exactly mean the system is better. Just because the PS2 outsold the XBox doesnt make it better. But the PS2 did however win the war because of the sales.

Probably not if it was just a port of a GTA game of the series, with extras. But it would be different if they made a new GTA exclusively to the PSP like Metal Gear Acid did with the MGS series.

Nintendo is making a lot of money off of the DS, thats all you have to know, and thats all that really matters. Sony is loosing around $75 per PSP sale.

hmm how is swat 4 actually?
i hope its not too much like operation flashpoint, that was way too tactical and slow-paced for my taste.
so is it more like rainbow six?

Nintendo IS selling to a loss on the DS, but becuse nintendo games are mainly 1st party they make their loss back after the consumer buys 3 - 4 of their games!!
But this a a thread about the PS3, The DS is a handheld so I have no Idea why its even being discussed here in the console section...
