Look at the app store ... i tried a HTC Desire and the marketplace failed ( for me at least ).

Failed in what way? For the record, the Windows Mobile thing is called marketPLACE, the Android is just called market Smile

- Reeder ( IMO the best rss reader! )
- TomTom ( offline navigation! Australia, USA, Europe )
- Awesome Notes ( To-Do List, with style Wink )
- iOutBank Pro ( mobile banking )
- iXpenseIt ( tracks your cost, great for travel with mates to track & share costs ( e.g. fuel etc.pp. )
- mobiles games

- gReader or if you want something special FeedSquares
- Not even gonna try to link anything here, tons of options. CoPilot, iGO are there and even TomTom is coming (HTC are actually working with them on a free version). Google Maps is not 100% offline, but still good (you can set your route and download it, so only for the initial calculation you need to be online).
- Awesome Notes does have a funky UI, but there are literally dozens of notes apps available, and Easy Note mimics that UI
- Too lazy to check how iOutBank works, is it bank-specific or limited to just a few? Because I know of 3 major banks here in NL that have their own banking app. My own bank even applies the same level of security as for their normal internet banking.
- Xpenser (applink)?
Games I already said the iPhone has an advantage right now, but that's all because of development and not hardware issues. You didn't really search properly, or you're referring to the MS Marketplace.

@ bringiton: same for every carrier, and even if I went for a phone by itself: what does that extra €150 give me? Looks aside, as that's incredibly subjective (I personally like the 3GS better than the 4), I'd get better battery life, but that's about it and it's hardly an issue, as for years I've been making it a habit to charge my phone when I get home anyway (went on the road too many times with an empty phone Razz).

Again, I like the iPhone, but there are Apple zealots who claim it is the most fantastic operating system in the world, with the best phone ever - without actually showing me some good arguments as to why that is. That's why I seem like I hate Apple - I don't really, their products are fine, I just really dislike their pricing, because the premium you pay is just ridiculous. Apart from that, they're fucking aweful towards developers and students. Created an app that is better than shit built in? Haha, fuck you, we reject! Couple of years ago some Dutch developer made an incredible camera app, and it got rejected because of that. Needless to say he fucked off to greater things, and strangely small portions of that app have made their way into the iPhone now.

Wasn't it you that posted about HTC Desire HD vs iPhone 4? And then when on to buy one? Because in that original thread (cannot find it), I specifically said that the battery life on the Desire HD is shite and you shouldn't get one for that reason Smile
