Well,i decided to open this topic because every SH game on consoles was on PC also.I hope for this one too.

Good news for fans is that Konami devs are back,no more American devs.. Razz Homecoming was okish, but PC version was disaster. And I hope this time Konami will not disappoint with PC port. Im true survival / horror and Asian horror movie fan (only old school, new movies are crap) and for me it's all about atmosphere in this games (and movies)..slow paced action, more scary and chilling moments..and ofc nice puzzles. Smile

E3 2010 Debut Trailer:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-silent-hill/700166

Looks promising, same gfx like Homecoming thou...but like I said it's all about atmopshere.

I also hope that new RE follow his roots...enough with this TPS bullshit!

Just excluding 1, 5 and 7, right? Razz

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

Still, SH1 was emulated, Origins and Shattered Memories are on PS2 too, which doesn't go for every SH game. Just saying.

The trailer looks very good, but probably the PC version will either come several months later and bugged as hell or not come at all.

Silent Hill 8, originally announced and trailered at E3 2010, has had a title change. The game, in development at Vatra Games and set to arrive later this year, has been officially titled Silent Hill: Downpour. The latest issue of Game Informer has a new preview on the title.

The demo shown to the magazine took place in the outskirts of Silent Hill. Apparently, the town is so large that the developers implemented a subway system for players to travel between points. The area explored in Downpour is the southeastern part of Silent Hill seen on maps, but never explored, in past games. Locations such as schools and hospitals will not return.

There will be various side-quests for the player to take on.

On combat, players can avoid fights when it's possible (run, scaredy cat, run). Boss battles, on the other hand, aren't avoidable and will enforce quick-time events when needed. Weapons used against enemies will weaken and break; there is no weapon inventory.

As the title may have suggested, water plays a huge role in Downpour.

-the town is so large that you can use a subway system to travel between focal points

-sidequests

-avoid fights when possible, better to deliver incapacitating blows and run away (so good!)

-boss fights with quicktime events (not so good)

-water plays a huge part in the game, bizarre water effects like what looks like an upside down river flowing across a ceiling is described

-prominent locations in the older installments like schools and hospitals will not return

-the southeastern part of Silent Hill that you see on the maps in the older games but never go to is the area that will be explored in Downpour

-no weapon inventory, weapons weaken and break

-there will be puzzle difficulty options

Vatra is currently working on two unannounced titles for one of the industry’s top publishers. The games are both for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

After some time, for both of these games (later revealed to be Silent Hill: Downpour and Rush'n Attack: Ex-Patriot) they stopped mentioning the existence of the PC versions. But since there's evidence that a PC version was planned for both of these games and hell.. they run on the most popular multiplatform engine of this gen (UE3) - meaning there's already a commercial version of the engine for the PC, there's hope they'll be released at some point.

It will come out on the PC. Eventually. A good percentage of the 'big' Silent Hill games (excluding Origins and Shattered Memories) has already set foot on the Windows platform. Sadly, a simultaneous multi-platform release is highly unlikely and nearly bordering with the impossible. But, I have my hopes.

Well Shattered Memories wasn't on PC (excluding Dolphin) so I suppose Downpour could be console only too. But I'm praying for a PC release.

Yeah, hospitals were kind of Silent Hills trade mark. I hope it's only a speculation. Neutral

Since it has been posted on their website yes it is OFFICIAL.

As I explained they later stopped mentioning the PC version though.
