Then you're not following the guide correctly. I define working as "IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH NOT A SINGLE ISSUE, GLITCH, CRASH, LOCK UP, FREEZE OR OTHERWISE NON-GAME SPECIFIC ISSUE"

*smiles sweetly*

If you follow the instructions, it works perfectly. Licenses work. Buying cars works. GT Mode works. EVERYTHING WORKS. I know because I've been playing the game in GT mode for several hours, have multiple licenses and a garage full of cars.

I take "tones" with people who deign to call me a liar, question my definitions, or otherwise blame others for their lack of comprehension, reading skill or ability to execute and implement - and follow - simple instructions. But hey, you go ahead and call me a girl all you want... I'll just laugh at your incompetence while enjoying GT-Mode with B, A, iB licenses acquired.

I'm mad because you have absolutely no idea how many times I've had to repeat these instructions. I'm mad because you have no idea how many times someone has "claimed" to have followed the guides, only to turn round later and admit they did something different. The PS3 isn't a PC, it doesn't have multiple hardware configurations and OS versions -- it has the same processor, the same GPU, the same RAM, the same GameOS on each and every god damned version of the PS3 that you can find.

If the game isn't working for you; you did something wrong. It is QUITE simple. It's not "just" working for me, it's working for hundreds of other people who follow the guides laid out before them. What patch issue are you talking about? "Patched Mode"? Well if you're running one of the latest versions of Hermes v4B along with MultiMAN in Patched Mode; then it will work. It will work. I'll repeat it again; IT WILL WORK.

Not working? Then I'll refer you to this;

http://psx-scene.com/forums/653629-post244.html

Quote:

Maybe your BR disk is smudged and the data is being corrupted during dump?
Maybe your BluRay drive is damaged and not reading this specific game correctly?
Maybe your downloaded copy has a corrupted file somewhere?
Maybe your downloaded copy was nonfunctional to begin with?
Maybe a file got missed or 0byte'd or corrupted during FTP?
Maybe you're not putting the decrypted EBOOT.BIN into the right folder?
Maybe you're updating the game to 1.05?
Maybe you're splitting that fucking goddamned GT.VOL and not telling us?
Maybe you're trying to run the game from external?
Maybe your internal HDD is on the fritz?
Maybe your PLAYSTATION is on the fritz?
Maybe you're not running the Hermes v4B payload?
Maybe you didn't transfer the game with Patched Mode active?
Maybe you haven't ran the PL3_Fix app to fix existing permissions?
Maybe you can't see "USB Patch" in the top-right corner of MultiMAN?

If you still can't get it working, then may I suggest an Xbox360? They require less effort.. you just put the game in the drive and it works. S'great fun! Hate me all you want, mate, but I'm absolutely certain you'll be (at least silently, as is always the way) thanking me when you finally put my methods into practice and can play the game properly =)

come down of your soap box sabin m8 the stress of all this must be shortening your life, the patch i was referring to was the 1.05 update wich non of use can download yet, i was mearly suggesting there may be some bugs in the actual game itself?

either way please dont imply im stupid - it is after all only 4 or 5 steps to follow.

also just to be absaloutly clear im not having the black screen issues, i can play gt mode 100% fine, the problem for me is loading certain tracks or arcade mode or license challenges it just sticks in the track loading.

Relaxing mate, trying to recover, needed a break.

@Gazc156

I didn't assume you were stupid, just that you've missed something out. You may not have noticed, but SOMETHING is missing in the steps you took. I've not heard a single person, who is playing the game legitimately, complain of not being able to load tracks or complete licenses. The issue stems from the modified EBOOT.BIN and the steps taken to load the game.

hehe. I love the lack of aggression in this thread Smile

I did all the work arounds on mine tonight (i.e. aquiring all the files, downgrading etc). GT5 (euro) will work if you follow the steps which is exactly what I didn't do. I had problems with certain tracks just loading forever and it turned out, I'd read all the steps but one of them as carefully as I should have Very Happy

As for the earlier Grid convo, yeah I'd take grid with 10 more cars tbh; I love racing games, be it arcadey or otherwise; but GT5 isn't racing , its a sim of driving cars and imo, everything feels way too light anyhow, especially the rally) As for the pace car stuff; fast car <> pace car as it really comes down to who the sponsor is. I worked on the WTCC, FIA GT's and F2's and it all came down to $$$ (or more euros but I've an old school keyboard). The GT's were running a chrysler at one point and settled on the corvetta Z06 which is significantly slower than any of the slowest GT cars (due to being road spec rather than race spec)

EUR EBOOT is out now too =) I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to them (being modified "cracked" retail "executables") but you can find them on PSX-Scene, in the PS3 Game Backup section, first page of the stickied thread "EBOOT Repository"

Try again from scratch. Which version are you using Euro or US? Check the file size to see if you are missing something. I have the Euro version the BCE500569 folder has a size of 14,739,236,746 bytes

i7 3770k, GTX980, 16GB Ram, SSD Raid0, Internet 3rd world shit not worth mentioning

after i suggested trying pal version from internetz it worked for him, go figure Razz
the only thing he can't do is export pictures to XMB, it's just sitting there doing nothing and the only thing to do is to quit the game

BINGO. There's your problem mate. Now you have to try and find out WHY.

1. That is the VERY same payload I am using; Hermes v4B-PSN (from several collaborating devs) It's a collection of HEXs for different devices. Spoofs to 3.50, though it doesn't really matter any more.
2. Grab the latest version of MultiMAN
3. PL3_Fix Permissions for multiple locations, though I have NOT used this. I've only used THIS one, which despite saying LAUN12345, works on every single location. Period.

Flash the payload. Run the Permissions Fix. Multiple times, just to make sure. Use MultiMAN. Enable Patched Mode. Play the friggin' game Laughing

I can confirm this, i was having the SAME problem (patched mode not sticking) and i ran this very permission fix just the once and it worked straight away (remember to delete any GT game data first otherwise you will have a black screen when booting)
