I have to say, after installing Gamebooster and adding Black Ops to the "gamebox", it's running a bit smoother, to the point where I can get some decent kills without stuttering every firefight.
Made a little vid, too:

No, that is exactly what it does. It *can* also defragment folders if you want it to, but that's pointless anyway.

Just how slow is your PC? Because on any recent system (say, 4-5 years old at best) that really shouldn't have any effect unless you have a craptastic amount of malware and useless services running ;/

for windows 7/vista users there is only a very very small amount of changes regarding registry or via cmd that would be of ANY benefit today.

Most things your advised on web or in applications promising the world of change regarding performance is just bullcrap and fancy shit that really has no real amount of gain for you.

In the past one would fiddle with services that you would not need etc to reclaim ram but that was all you would be reclaiming. I remember them saying things like, "turn this service off and it will stop hindering stuttering and lag in games" when in all matter of fact the service is designed to suspend when you start using your pc for any hard workload like a game anyhow..

People will believe anything these days Very Happy

There is in my eyes just one global cmd change for packets that might be of help to some people and a few destop compatibility issues that can be de aerofied with games and thats about all one should have to be concerned with..

4gb ram and a solid card with correctly set speeds in bio to cpu fsb and you should not have any real problems with games permitted to run correctly on your machine. Otherwise you can bet its down to software issues..

And if your on XP....... why Very Happy

My system is not new, but it runs recent games just fine (except for this one). I think I might have found the reason why it's reduced my stuttering: it auto-lowers priority for applications other than the game itself. I've done quite a lot of ini tweaks but I didn't lower steam.exe's priority until now. Seems to help quite a lot. I didn't mean to look gullible or anything, it's something I could have done without said application. Also, I bound the snd_restart command to F5 because I get sound loops every round.

@garus, thanks Smile
I'm not as good as this guy though:

I really like the two where he climbs a ladder then throws it, also the last one. I'll have to try that one because there's always someone up there (that ledge on Jungle).

Hey PC gamers:

We are listening to you and we’ve been busy working on updates based on feedback from the community. We have already deployed a number of updates, and there will be many more to come. Stay tuned right here for all the latest info.

IN PROGRESS
(Last Updated 1/12/11)

• MP Audio stuttering on certain systems.
• Playercards sometimes not showing properly.
• Added three Private Match Server Settings: Team Change, Team-Up Period, and Keep Balanced Teams.
• Added Alternate Color Scheme for accessibility: Settings / Multiplayer / Player Name Indicator.
• Changed Team-Up Period countdown interval to 10 seconds.
• Combat Training sessions are no longer counted in Server Browser Unranked tab.
• Friends on your team will now show as blue on your minimap.
• Prevention of various exploits.
• Objective markers localized for all languages.
• SP Audio stuttering on certain systems.
• Addition of new contracts.
• Addition of the “Dolly Cam” editing mode in Theater.
• If a player cancels an invite to a Wager Match, then attempts to join another server, they will join the server from the declined invite.
• Issue where the incorrect perks would appear when spectating another player under certain conditions.
• Addition of round start explosive delay to China Lake grenade launcher to give it the same “spawn toob” protection as other explosives.
• Ensure reticle purchases are reset on prestige in all circumstances.
• Contracts should reset on prestige.
• Prevention of Valkyrie rocket exploding upon release under rare conditions.
• Prevention of Gunship and Chopper Gunner failing to give player full control under rare conditions.
• Prevention of an issue where a player will get teleported outside the map boundaries under very specific conditions.
• Limit the ability to re-roll supply drops using Hardline Pro to Care Packages only, no other killstreak drops.
• Increased headshot multipliers for sniper rifles. Sniper rifles with suppressors equipped will now always be ensured one-shot kill headshots.
• Added a render delay to the red diamond player indicators that appear when controlling the Gunship, Valkyrie Rocket and Chopper Gunner. When a player first spawns, this will not appear for a period of time.
• Additional minor reductions in knife lunge.

Sounds like a good idea. Should limit spawn-pwning enemies a little.

Except the spawn system is still so gay, that people spawn together Razz

amusing game on the derpbox just now, 3 guys being all mouthy and cocky, rough sounding buggers lol, I throw in my typical retort humour which they did not like and being so derpy young decided name calling, ballbag and pedo etc was best they managed.

My son ( 6 ) joined my game so I toned it down they carried on being stupid and how i was a noob etc geebus some of them sounded at least mid to late 30's - son whipped theyre arses after them saying oh were all on same side time to fuck them up etc lol. sons on top end of the 2 games with over 28 kills winning us the games, do they stay for next one? NO they all quit nothing more said from them about being beat by my nipper lol's

the moment was funny there was so much bickering and talk of how they were going to win and kick ass and how my son was a bunch of names I cant really be bothered to mention lol, and they loose to him.. felt good Very Happy I high fived him after...

I get him to turn the volume down btw soon as they all start being a bit mouthy.. he dont seem to need sound to do well it seems.. I think you can turn off the voice to speakers in options on the 360, not sure though, still a bit new to the online aspects of the derpbox.

I think my last sentence was to do with just that, I have no idea ive seen voice to speaker settings I couldnt recall if it had no voice heard options.. Its not my primary gaming platform I only use it when my son would like some gaming between us, most of the time he would rather system link..
