ok flashed my ps3 using 3.55-Kmeaw instaled multiman so now in which folder on the ps3 hard drive do i have to copy a given game i want to play ?

dev_hdd0\GAMES
dev_usb\GAMES
Keep note of the S. It's not GAME, it's GAMES =)

Sabin is there some sort of compatibility list for games? I cannot get my Little big planet 2 to work from a usb hdd.

Is this your first jailbreak or did you come from 3.41? If you came from 3.41 then you need to restore the original EBOOT.BIN for LBP2. You can't load the modified 3.41 EBOOT on the new firmware.

Im on Kmeaw and I just copied the game files to my usb drive. I didnt touch the eboot not sure why its not working just boots to a blank screen. Im not using a modified eboot.

Sorry for all the questions Sabin, you have been very helpfull when you could have been an ass. Lb2 wont launch becuase I had no bluray in drive ;-p Working now

Either I'm stupid and can't find shit or the way I'm trying to do it is not possible.
Let say I downloaded gow 3 release, I extracted the files on my pc. So what do I need to do now to get this game on my ps3 hdd??
The one thing I really want to have an answer to is. To transfer files from you computer to the ps3 using an ethernet cable, this is the cable used for internet connection right? I'm getting stupider by the minute. So when I put one end of the ethernet cable at the back of my pc and the other end at the back of the ps3, shouldn't I be able to transfer files?
I'm going crazy...

use a ftp client like filezilla or flashfxp.
assign the ps3 a ip adress and connect to it using ftpd12345 no password works for me everytime

dude, this are computer basics 101. You need a FTP server to run on the playstation 3, i would recommend blackbox FTP 1.2 and you need an FTP client to login to the ftp server to transfer the files to your internal HDD. Then you use a backup manager to load a game and play it.

so i updated my ps3 with the new kmeaw firmware and installed the lvl2 loader.
when i restart the ps3, the first thing i do is running the lvl2 patcher, then i start multiman 0.12.5 choose one of the backups in the list, press x to load it and return to xmb.
the name of the bdvd in the drive gets changed to the name of the backup i've choosen in multiman however if i try to run the bdvd directly or the /app_home/ link i get a black screen.
what am i missing ? tried this with nail'd and assassins creed brotherhood

Make sure they're ORIGINAL eboots, not modified or patched.

didnt know you were asleep earlier - can you possibly help (sorry im repeating)
what do i do with my GAMEZ folder and all 3.41 apps(blackbox and opm)...
should i remove blackbox and openmanager etc off xmb or does that remove gamez?
can i keep gamez somehow?

Rename GAMEZ to GAMES, or move the contents out of GAMEZ into a new folder called GAMES. You don't need to remove your existing software either - you just need to install 3.55-signed apps over the top. DON'T uninstall backup managers until you're absolutely certain your games are in the GAMES folder and not GAMEZ.

It should do, being a complete dickhead I managed to wipe the PS3 this morning ( mental note, dont do anything before a few cups of coffee in future) and I have not had any issues apart from known PL3 ones.
This highlights the problems with hermes, because he didnt use github (or similar) for his payload, you have to go through loads of shit to use it.
Thats why they used PL3.
Personally I found hermes better, but I can understand why they would use PL3, and in time it will advance to a better state than hermes because anyone can contribute easily.
maybe if hermes put v4b on his github ( https://github.com/hermesEOL ) people would look at it and add it to PL3, or post it over to work this way.
As it stands I have a good understanding of PL3 because its open and easy to look at, I have never even looked at the source for hermes

Not to mention that, on this new Kmeaw FW, PL3 works great! It's even playing GT5 perfectly with no freezes or issues during license/track loading.

but uncharted 2 runs like crapola on PL3, im luck if it lets me plays for 2 seconds before it freezes, its a shame cause i loved uncharted 2 multiplayer.

so if i move all the stuff in gamez to somewhere else, remove opm and blackbox etc and then install ofw 3.55 and then the patched keamw fw in recovery mode etc.
then download which manager? multiman?
then will that just locate my games wherever i put them?

That's not the internal caddy, the actual drive enclosure is fine -- it's internal drive bay needs to have the lid removed before the drive fits in, which also means you have to open the machine's case to install it
