Review: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dead-Space-2-Aftermath-Blu-ray/17193/#Review
The reviewer concludes the movie is boooooring and the animation and image quality terrible (inb4 "yeah, you know I liked the first one": he agrees that the first one was decent)
I didn't know it, but from the screengrabs it looks like the movie has 3d models this time, albeit of questionable production values....

no, it's a solution to speed up animation when you don't have time/money/patience to make quality 2D
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

Kinda related:
Quote: | Electronic Arts has a somewhat mixed record when it comes to PC gaming. On the one hand it has released a number of well known exclusive PC game titles such as The Sims, Spore, and others. It's also releasing C free-to-play games like Battlefield Heroes and the upcoming Battlefield Play4Free game. On the other hand it tends to treat the PC like a second class game platform when it releases a multiplatform game. The perfect example is EA now offering a PC demo for games like Dead Space 2, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit and Bulletstorm when all three games have demos for the console versions.
Now comes word that EA has bought the web site domain CampaignforPCGaming.com. The domain, which was bought by the company in December 2010, seems like a very specific choice. Is EA going to use it as an example of how much support it has given PC gaming? If so how does the non-profit group the PC Gaming Alliance, which EA is not a member of, feel about that? We have emailed EA to find out why they have purchased the domain but so far we have yet to receive a response. |

Always makes me laugh when these corporate retards go with silly "Yes! Support PC gaming!" slogans, when in reality they are the ones killing it with releasing god-awful console ports of even more god-awful games for console derps. Perhaps they mean "Support PC gaming" like Activision does - so they could charge moniez for online play. Bobby actually said that he prefer PC gaming because on Xbox live MS is making huge amounts of cash while Activision sees not 1$, but on PC they can charge cash for their service.

Not sure if a simple but optimized console port, which runs on most PCs because of the ancient console hardware, is the best outcome, but I agree that it is leaps and bound ahead of crap like GTA4, which with Core i14 100 cores, you might be able to play smooth from time to time, but when you move fast, still down to 14 fps.

yeah agreed, gta4 was stupid. future proofing, wtf? make a game playable NOW, not 5 years later.
and the best outcome? prob not no, but i honestly wont complain if i see a decent pc game that runs/controls relatively fine. seeing as how those things are a rarity in pc gaming nowadays i'll take that with a smile

Well Dead Space is not the most CPU intensive game ever; even with a poor port the game will probably run great anyway
As for the controls, I'm quite confident that they'll be implemented correctly this time

They probably mean WE should support it and they'll release a video where they beg us to buy their PC ports

Most the issues seem to be revolved around dual-core procs. For me it's practically unplayable... not because it's 100% stuttering, but because the constant - random - stutter just ruins the enjoyment.

I see. I guess I were right when I chose to buy a Q6600 (G0) instead of a Dual Core with more Hrz. At least I haven't experienced bad performance in games, except for the Stalker and Metro2033 games.
Btw. Can somebody confirm the rumors about Crysis 1 being badly optimized? I mean, it looks great to me at max detail settings, so Imo, it should be demanding (No I can't run this game on max smooth, but a new GPU will probably fix that).

Well, despite of what most say, I don't consider Crysis a badly optimized game. I mean, it looks damn great and runs pretty smooth with a good configuration of the video options. There are a lot far worse optimized games than Crysis that look 10 times worse at least. About CoD:BO, no, you were not the only one that didn't have problems. The game ran pretty smooth on max details at 1280x1024 on my E6850 + 8600GT.

For one it doesn't utilize more than ~1.5 core of your CPU: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2010/07/05/how-many-cpu-cores-do-games-need/2

I'll get this one when I see a deal similar to the original: 10€ brand new.

Last time I checked, RLD had cracked SolidShield quite impressively.... though not sure how that applies to the newest versions.
