I've not deleted any managers, only updated to 3.55 compatible versions, but somehow all of the games that I had in GAMEZ have been deleted. Very annoying.
It was succesful on getting the ip but then it gave me a dns error 80710102

This is what I did...
Hook the PS3 and PC up with a CAT5 cable.
On PS3: Network settings, internet connection settings, custom, wired connection, auto detect, automatic, do not set, automatic, automatic, do not use, enable.
That will connect your PS3 to your PC.
Then this to bridge my ethernet port to my wireless adapter, so my PS3 can connect to the net through my PC.
I tried other ways but kept getting DNS errors and the PS3 not connecting to the net.

Mate first of all I have a windows xo, when I did this (On PS3: Network settings, internet connection settings, custom, wired connection, auto detect, automatic, do not set, automatic, automatic, do not use, enable.) after that you can save your settings and test the connection. And if I test the connection it doesn't find the ip-adress.
Sadly I'm running PC<>Router<>PS3 ... so I don't get the deliciousness of my gigabit ethernet, I'm limited to 100Mbit from the router. Generally get 10-13MB/s during FTP transfer. Now if I was to forego internet access and connect PC directly to the PS3, I should get 30MB/s+.
Nah, what's the point? 10-13MB/s is more than enough for me. Why waste money on something that will only be used for transferring games once in a while?
I'm a noob so I expect all the curses thrown at me. Anyways can't I install blackb0x ftp server without first hacking my ps3? Because I put the pkg file on my usb and put it in my still not touched(don't have any cfw or anything like that on it) ps3 but after that I don't know how to install it
Honestly mate... there's a STICKIED thread in this very section and answers your questions quite nicely. No, you CANNOT installed ANY app until you have Jailbroken your PS3 -- you won't even have the option to install packages.
Once you've installed Kmeaw (or indeed any of the CFW, though really; stick with Kmeaw) you'll see an option on the XMB called "Install Packages". Select that to scan your USB stick/HDD for .pkg files to install.
Eh? I didn't see it >_< And even if I did... believe me, you have NO idea how sick and tired I am of hearing GT5. I posted a MEGA guide on how to run it, most of which is now simply outdated in the wake of 3.55 with the LV2 Patcher, and that's it as far as I'm concerned.

True... only reason I bought mine was to get a gigabit link between my desktop and my 6TB unRAID media server for transferring Bluray rips
That's how. Or you can simply bypass all that and install 3.55-Kmeaw with Gaia or MultiMAN. No patched mode needed, no modified EBOOTs needed, no Hermes needed. Just dump/FTP, launch manager, play.
