I have just started using it and have some questions, surrounding the processing from sabnzbd+ to SickBeard...

Its pretty nifty, I am currently using it to rename / meta tag all of my tv shows (which it is pretty damn good at). However, i'd like to use it to start keeping all my shows up to date automatically, however i am struggling to get it to post process the files properly (rename, move to correct folder, etc).

I just started using this today, still in the process of having it process all my shows (there's quite a few Razz).

Up to now I have been using Sab in combination with mediaNZB.com; Sab's been doing the postprocessing, I'm gonna have a fiddle with Sickbeard's to see if it's better. I don't care much about the metadata really, as on the other end I have Mediaportal with MP-TVSeries.

So far though it works really well, loving it Smile

Horror, got it working yet? If not, lemme know and I'll help you out.

Works perfect for me, and I'm absolutely loving it. The ONLY downside is that when I delete an episode (after watching it) it sets the status back to SKIPPED rather than ARCHIVED. Easy enough to fix, I'll just grab the source at some point Smile

I would, but your avatar is distracting me with its stare..Razz

Gimme a few minutes and I'll have it up Smile

Edit:

I'll go by Sab's config first, we'll come back to it later as well.

SabNZBD
Config -> General:
- Make sure API key is enabled
- I'd recommend setting user/pass if you're gonna access it from the outside as well

Config -> Folders:
- Incomplete/Complete folders HAVE to be somewhere ELSE than the final TV series dir - We'll set that last one in Sickbeard!
- Post-Processing Scripts Folder: set something here so that we can copy the config + executable later on

Config -> Categories:
- Create a category for TV series here; I use a subdir within my "Complete" as anything downloaded here will be moved by Sickbeard anyway

Config -> Folders:
- Disable sorting; critical!

Sickbeard
I went by the binary release for now, because I didn't want to fiddle with the source yet. Also means that you don't have to download Python or anything, since the DLL's are distributed alongside the executable. Just unpack and run the executable.

First the web-based config, then we'll do the post-process config and finish it in Sab. I'll skip the stuff that's up to you, like whether you want to launch browser on loading Sickbeard (I don't, since it's on a server that's on most of the time anyway).

Config -> General:
- Episode naming: I recommend unticking the air-by-date format, I never want that happening tbh

Config -> Episode Downloads:
- Episode Results
-- NZB Method: SabNZBD (ORLY?!)
-- IP/Port/Username/API: Fill in as required, self-explanatory
-- Category: type in the *exact* name as shown in Sab - that's the FIRST field on the category page, all lowercase

- Post-Processing
-- Leave TV Download dir empty!
-- Keep Original Files: OFF
-- Move Associated Files: ON
-- Rename Episodes: ON
-- Scan and Process: OFF

Got all that done? Here's the good bit then: Post processing.
Go to your Sickbeard folder; there's a subfolder "autoProcessTV" in there. From that folder, copy "autoProcessTV.cfg.sample"+"sabToSickBeard.exe" to that "Post-Processing Scripts Folder" you set in Sab earlier. Rename the .cfg.sample to .cfg, edit it. All of these settings are about Sickbeard, not Sab; fill in any details you changed in Sickbeard's config here. For me, default host/ip was fine (I use a different port from the outside, but internally it's fine). User/pass you obviously gotta fill in if you set those, you can leave them empty as well of course.

Done that? Open up Sab's page again, head to Config -> Categories and set "Script" for your TV category to "sabToSickBeard.exe" - don't forget to hit the Save button Razz

That's it, you're good to go. Want to import your existing TV series folder? I did, works pretty damn well - my TV series folder was sorted fairly well already though, I had Sab doing that previously. Open up Sickbeard's page, go to Home -> Add Shows - click Browse under "Add multiple shows from a root directory" and press "Add multiple shows".

It'll let you pick the show if it doesn't find a 100% match, and it'll process the files as well. If you want to mass rename them later like I did (added episode name to the file) just press the Manage button at the top.

Other than that this thing is incredibly easy to use - don't think I need to explain much else Smile

Also: 60 shows (52 active) | 3635/3788 episodes downloaded - Not even done adding some stuff I hadn't sorted out yet :>
