yes, man.
the problem is the same, and ONLY, i repeat, ONLY, with Snowblind and BIA..."the others" run just like my morcielago....
and i don't wanna use Beta Nvidia Drivers or something like that....note that the system is up and running just fine, no tweak, no overclock (no need - Wink), nothing....
and i do confirm that: even in the startup movies u see that something's wrong.
suggestions?
stuff like video codec messed up?
i do remember that Colin Mc Rae 2 or 3 didn't wanna start 'cause of video codec messed up...the solutions was find out just on this forum: someone told me to unistall nimo codec pack...
i did it and BANG!...everything just runned fine...
now my question is: is the problem the same?
nope, i think, 'cause THIS time nimo is NOT installed...
so, we're back to the original sin:
where is the four-letter-word problem??

I'm quite sure it has nothing to do with video codecs. You can skip the stuttering movies and get into the menu. It continues to stutter there as well, even though it's engine generated graphics in the background. Tried different game setup options from highest to lowest, and it didn't help.
Tried beta drivers from Nvidia just to be sure as well.

Btw, BIA works well for me.

yes, sir...
also tried at different resolutions and depth (16/32), desktop + game, vsync on/off (i usually turn it OFF), aa on/off...nothing....
2 questions:
1 - beta drivers from nvidia - problems?
2 - only project snowblind is BLIND (sorry for the joke, pal!), but BIA runs fine, do you confirm that?
and, btw, i also think that the problem is NOT in the video/audio codecs, but...where?
anyone other in similar conditions?
thanx 2 all

Yes, BIA runs fine for me. No problems at all with this game.

As for the beta drivers - there are many different versions and some of them cause problems and some not. You need to try for yourself and see if it works well for you. I recommend guru3d.com, visit the forums, there are many people there who test different drivers and post their experiences.

Perhaps the problem is in the game itself. Unless more people will show up with similar problems, we'll have to hope a patch will fix the problem. Not sure I'll wait for it... Smile

thank you for your technical description and solution of my problem, pal....
next time try to be more efficient, man, i was just asking if someone had my same problem, not if my 5950 sux....
i know that your graph card is newer, faster, blah-blah....but i was asking something technical, not bitchin'around.
regards

In fact, not only he didn't help you a bit, he also misjudged the problem! As I've said, it's not about 3d graphics at all, it's an entirely different problem - even the startup logo movies of game companies are slow! I have 6600GT and still experience this problem.

I know you've dismissed it but it sounds like a codec problem to me,
I'm only guessing though,
I've had very similar problems in the past,
if you do a google search for Ace Mega Codec pack use that to clear out your codecs then do individual installs of the codecs you think you'll need, I.E. divx, xvid etc
Ask yourself how much you want to play these games though, I know from personal experience how difficult it is to get everything working correctly on your pc once you remove your codecs,
it took me approx 2 days the 1st time I had to do it, and its been so long since I did it that I can't remember which codecs you need to install and which cause problems

thanx, man.
i'm using zonealarm too and i dont't think it's a problem of codecs or firewall or a/v...perhaps i do agree with your soluction (video drivers)...BUT...i'll be waiting for the final release of the beta drivers from Nvidia, as i don't trust beta releases...
or should i?

everyone has trouble with Snowblind. it's the game itself, not your system. Eidos fucked up Snowblind big time. No patches, nothing to help us gamers to fix the problems.
