Isnt it gamer > Advanced > Hardcore | You're right... almost.
I mixed up Advanced with Gamer.
The correct order seems to be(">" means greater than):
Hardcore>Advanced>Gamer.
Still, it's a retarded designation that was introduced in warhead, guess it's another of cevat's "great ideas".
But with your specs you might as well as use JBeckman's ini, it should run fine in your machine.

Didn't Warhead have Enthusiast> Gamer> Mainstream>Minimum or something like that?

Switch your preset to Gamer and prepare to be awed.
@ixigia: Yeah, those were the presets. So revolutionary!

You guys actually think it looks good? I mean, Crysis looks like five times better than this. Low-poly models, crappy textures, no view distance...Pretty much everything looks worse. And you can't even begin to compare the vegetation and trees, that will just be embarrassing for Crysis2.

Does the word "beta" tell you anything?

Did anyone notice the panther sound the suit makes everytime stealth mode is turned on?
Read the following lines only if you're really interested in the game's outcome. Spoiler: | Worst ending, ever. I understand Crysis is a sci-fi franchise, but it's too sci-fi for it's own good. |

Also when you change to "Armor" etc.. Sounds like Stephen Hawkins. But anyway, i like the game and will buy it when it comes :> Not gonna mess anymore with this beta.

Yah, in the month that's passed since this beta was 'released' I'm sure they've remade the textures, models, trees, etc. This is all probably just placeholders.

It was introduced because so many people were crying and raging over the fact their $1000+ PC couldn't play Crysis 1 at "Very High" settings when they could play whatever X other game at "Very High".
Cevat's argument was that Crysis was designed for PCs 5 years down the road or something and that the "Very high" settings can't be compared to other games - the "Medium" setting in Crysis was what people should have been happy with or expected to use back then. So they then introduced the dumb naming system.
JBeckman wrote: | One thing I do dislike from how it was in the first game is the more open less restrictive and scripted layout of the maps and how you could progress and act on them, you do have suit modes and can say combine them (Running in speed mode plus ducking doing a slide for example, holding melee / V doing a strength attack instead of normal, stealth killing being available now and such.) overall it feels more limited and narrowed with more of a illusion of a big city environment but with many shortcuts and optimization tricks to fool the player, instead levels are divided into smaller sections with little different ways to progress trough them, overall as mentioned it is very close to a CoD clone albeit on say Hardcore settings in regards to enemy AI, damage received and taken and overall balance. |
I completely agree with this.
I'm on a fairly ancient PC and the game still runs relatively fine compared to the prequels. However all the levels that I've played so far have been very closed (not much to draw on screen), akin to CoD, so there isn't really much to tax the CPU/GPU. The game may look pretty good, but it's definitely far more on rails and confined - not unexpected given the somewhat console focus.

You can always remove it yourself. The good thing about CE is you can modify just about anything.

Some of the blur is used anyway even if you disable the in-motion blur effect, depth of filed has numerous settings albeit thankfully it's mostly only effective when zooming or customizing weapon equipment and that other function. (As to avoid spoilers.)
Light spoiler possibly, now with screens, haha.
Spoiler: |
Also the creatures were better designed in Crysis 1, I mean they look cool and all here but also they're like chromed and pink now and described as, ready for it, jelly based...
(One of the loading screens even suggests shooting the armor parts apart were possible to reach the squishy jelly areas easier and really damage them, they also have tentacles making them look goofy and silly up close.)

(Shot the face plate cover off, killed it and loaded the game, saving/loading can be done via console to avoid checkpoint system, as seen the design in my opinion at least, while similar, was better in Crysis 1 even for the creatures when outside their drones and vehicles while in the crashed ship section of the game.)
|
EDIT: Also as a smaller bug in this build ragdolls and AI can get glitchy when you load a game nearby, often assuming the basic placement/rigging position.
EDIT: Fixed the post a bit, added images.

anyway to improve CFX performance?
this leaked Crysis2 doen't support cf, so I can use Radeon Pro to force cf by using Biosock cfx profile and AFR mode, but resulting in a load of flickering horizontal lines on screen, so I just rename the exe name to Bioshock.exe. but lost some performance, compared with using Biosock cfx profile.
So anyone has better idea?

Ok finished the sp.
10 hours SP on medium.
But medium here:
-Weapons vanish
-Poor hit detection with some weapons
-Enemies wont die, sometimes lock up and do nothing
-On some level the game would eat up 1gb of ram and would lock up
- Must do some things in a specific order to pass to the other level
- With bugs, i must say that sometimes the game was a challenge, i can only imagine the finished product being easier.
Some things about the game:
- Some good story elements with shitty presentation...and other story elements were laughable(Spoiler: Some guy that helps you most of the game , betrays you about half way trough...big fcukin surprise there...then he...helps you again?!)
- Some great actions scenes
- Intense firefights
- It's fun
- More linear then Crysis(i bet you didn't expect this one)
- Good music sometimes poorly used
- Great Visuals
- I think more weapons then in Crysis.

I'd say it more of the same , but consoleized , if it weren't multiplat , it would actually be alot bigger and more awesome.
I don't get why people bash the shit out of it , it's a great game.
Forgot to mention , i had a major problem , at the bridge level , the game started locking up every 2-3 seconds and eventually overheated my graphics card so i had to reset the whole system , the game was using over 1 gb of ram.
I managed to avoid this shit running through the level as fast as possible since when i started firefights and on certain sections of the bridge the game would start failing.
