Ah, so you do have it Wink

Indeed, it's the only way to enjoy sports games on PC Smile

And it's good with driving games as well; I've recently installed some Asian drivers which enable FF effects even on "old" simulations like GTR 2/rFactor, and it's not bad at all. (My old steering wheel was way better though, but it's gone..)

The patch supposedly fubars the shooting timings or something, did anyone notice anything like that?

Doesn't fubar them - but it does change the perfect release zone (supposedly to make them closer to online timings) - so you'll have to re-learn the shots.

The only thing i don't like about the patch is the automatic playcalling. It's not really a problem for my 99 rated shooting guard because at least 30% of the plays are run for him anyway and i get the ball at will if i don't like the play. But my rookie PF is really struggling be cause of this. I had 2 games where i only got to touch the ball and score after an offensive rebound.

I'm not sure why they implemented it - it's not like it's realistic - coaches never call EVERY SINGLE play - they usually have default sets and let the point guard make choices.

I'm getting lower performance post-patch. Could be Securom for all I know, as they don't seem to have messed with the graphics in any way. I'm waiting for the crack to verify, can't be bothered to install another emulation program or getting YASU once again.

Same here, even with the cracked version I'm experiencing a lower performance as well. It's not annoying, still I find it rather unjustified..

Huh? Online what? Aren't the shots the same for all players offline and online?

@ixigia: Cracked version seems to have improved the framerates for me once again, mind you, I'm forcing V-Sync and Triple Buffering via the D3DOverrider.

Regarding the shot stick timings though, yes, it does change them. I wouldn't call it screwing them up. I found them to be quite bad in the pre-patch version, as the player had to rise up and just about start coming down in order to make a perfect release, while now you release it just before the top of their jump and while they're rising, so that they can release it at just their peak. That means you won't be able to first see them reach their peak and then release the shot, which is what was done pre-patch to just make it easier, but once you get the new timings down, trust me, all your players will now have proper quick releases, instead of before when the opposing defenders had time to make a coffee, drink it in the stands with the fans and then come back down to contest the shot while you were waiting for the player to rise up and then go down.

So it's better. Different, which means you'll spend some time in Live Practice to make sure you get them down, but it gets better once you do.

Otherwise, if you can't bother, switch to Real Player %. There are many sliders based on that, as most slider creators decided that, for realism sake, they'd switch to RP%, so that they don't have to bother not screwing up the release of an otherwise perfect player. That takes half the fun out of it for me, and Pistons with RP% suck balls, so I'm on Shot Stick Timing, and I just got used to the new timings. Rght now using Armor & Sword's sliders with a few tweaks for SST.

Think I got it, thanks for the explanation Smile

As I have 5 franchisees and 3 my players does the patch affect them too or do you need to start new ones?

No, it affects them as far as I can imagine, since the changes are not regarding the in-save databases, rather than the calculations that are done on them (hence all changes are in the EXE), so it is compatible with all existing saves, and you should see the fixes and changes.

Hell, it even let me continue my MyPlayer save which I thought was dead since it was crashing at the same point over and over.

Did they up FG% in the patch, they definitely upped the 3p%.

Gameplay seems sweet, can't tell what's different, making shots seems easier for the cpu and for me.

Have to agree with the others the shooting system before the patch was way better and made more sense, this one is just too early, I am baffled at practice sometimes when I barely touch the stick and it's calling me late, wtf, not sure why they changed it, in my opinion the shoot stick should be released as the hand 'snaps' or slightly before.

I have to kind of agree. It seems to be too early. But then again the pre-patch timings were too late. Why can't they just get it right?

Guess I'll just use the Real FG%, interestingly with Larry Bird it's kinda late but very hard to tell when to let go, with Spud Webb it's impossible now, with Kukoc it's early but sometimes he get's kinda 'stuck' so you should release late but in all the panic you release early and your shot is bad cause it's too early now, bloody chaos.

Real FG% is more realistic anyway, I assume that's how CPU hits or misses their shots in NBA2k.

I tried RP%, I wanted to get rid of those shots that should be sure to go down but didn't due to my own fault. But let me tell you that if you switch to that, if your team's not enjoyable to watch on TV, it won't be enjoyable to play in the game either, and that kind of ruined the experience for me. I got used to the new timings and went back to SST, because RP% was way bad with the Pistons.

Extract the EXE with WinRAR, extract the MSP with whatever utility you find in Google (lost the link, can't be bothered to search), and overwrite the files.

Back to the shot stick, the real fg% I do not like, I'd rather be late or early it's just more fun.

Anyway it's not that bad altogether it can be pretty bad for the historic players for some reason, still not sure why they changed I'm sure somebody asked the devs on 2k forum about that or on operation sports.
