Well, than you would need an official emulator, correct? Unless you can download it to your PSP. Also, you wouldnt need to rip PSP games. Can still have full content. I guess Kalisto was just experimenting with PSP if this is even true. I know alot of sites wouldnt get this release yet because theres no section for it if this release even exists.

Try that place for new info. Hopefully this is the start of some nice detailed info on how perhaps in the future how to play PSP games on your handheld or PC.

The memory cards used for the PSP will have a section entitled “games”. This means that gaming applications can be run directly through a memory stick, YEAH! Emulators could easily be run off from memory sticks, and games could be stored in there too. |

Wow, not only Kalisto is back, and from the nfo, it doesn't require any modification to play it?! Can this be true? Currently, the biggest ms duo pro is only 1 gig, but umd has the capacity of 1.5 gig?!

For all I know, it can be fake. I havent seen it on any sites yet. See, usually when a new handheld comes out. People make sections for it. If you remember GameCube awhile back even before there were ways to play the games, they still released GC games. Now a widely known group like Kalisto, if this is real, woulda been released to alot of places by now. I think its fake but I dunno. Plus I dont own a PSP yet.
However, I think in order to play these games you have to download them, than load them onto your PSP through your memory card. However, what happens if you run out of space? My only tactic is to collect a ton of PSP games and load them on a DVD somewhere. I'm not going to be buying fuckin' memory cards all the time.

Sony isnt going to let you run their games off the memory stick without protection to stop it. It's certainly not going to be this easy, even if you did have a mem stick that could fit the size of the game on them. Emulation sounds reasonable, but direct rips of PSP games, thats stretching it.
Obviously this is an April fools joke.

Yea, probably about the April Fools Joke. They prolly released a fake nfo than now, with the hint pointing to April, 1st. But what I'm more interested in is running the games. Whos to say Sony protected their mem card database when noone or no sources that I saw tried yet?
Tell ya what. If someone can supply proof of a ripped game trying to up it to their mem card, either failing or succeding, that'd be great. It'd be cheaper to emulate it though. That way you can just save your games collection to dvd.

Right, but were more interested on ways to run the games in the future right now. So far I can think of 2 options. Theres probably more.

Follow up to the packet sniffing post
Regarding the Namco Museum transfer, this was done to see if there was any way to figure out what data exactly was being sent from PSP to PSP. The idea was that if we can learn how data is being sent, we can send our own code to be executed by spoofing a PSP with the correct responses - these packets were captured by a Powerbook G4 eavesdropping on the two PSPs. Unfortunately, from first glance, Sony is using raw ethernet and their own proprietary encryption format, which will be very hard - if not impossible - to decipher in a short time frame. As such we are moving away from this course of action at this time, but feel free to look into this if you would like as this does seem promising for an extended project.
As an aside, this demonstrates that a Japanese PSP and a US PSP can utilize the “Game Share” feature, at least with a Japanese version of Namco Museum. We tried it both ways with no adverse effects - I don’t know if this has been tried before, but there you have it. Further updates will be forthcoming.
