Very nice start, I liked it. The cast is very good, the scenery looks great and for once the King Arthur legend is not childishly portrayed in a TV show.

So you think it sucks, youre just ridiculing his opinion without really giving one of your own. Enlighten us on what kind of elevated opinion the despot can mumble.

I haven't seen Camelot yes. But Spartacus... Or Blood and Sand. Laughing Or True Blood.
It just boggles my mind how people can be fine with stupid shows of flicks as long as there is nudity and blood, that's all. I doubt you think differently. Enjoying nudity where it fits the story, that's fantastic. But making a story around nudity, eh... Smile

Well in Spartacus's defense, John Hannah did a brilliant role as Batiatus. Were you one of those people who watched a few eps of the first season and turned away in disgust? Razz

Yeah I agree, however I do tend to enjoy mindless entertainment when I have my minesweeper moments. I can play minesweeper while watching Spartacus because there isnt really anything of importance to miss. Ive gotten my record down to 134 seconds on advanced. Laughing

I usually put music when doing these kinds of activities. Doing it wrong, I guess.

Porn usually has terrible actors and shit budgets and women that look like they were blown up like dolls. Hence the popular trend in TV. It's basically porn and violence put together. The most enjoyable things in life next to good food, good friends and a good view (and the combination of the five).

Yes, yes I'm back.

Violence for the sake of violence is hardly an enjoyable thing, sorry.
Some would argue the same for gratuitous nudity and porn (although I wouldn't go quite there Laughing).

Of course it is, why else do you think this world revels in it so much? People love this shit. Except there are entire systems of denial (religion, the U.N. et cetera) created to deny it and deal with its consequences.

There is a reason why gladiators killing each other was the highest form of entertainment back in the day. To be frank, I'd probably be there watching with them.

If you think Spartacus is nothing more than a porn wannabee with shitty acting, you probably haven't watched more than two eps.

Decent cast like Mister_s said, with the exception of Arthur who's completely miscast - a scrawny punk like that has no place as king. They should've cast someone like Sebastian Chabal.

I think he's well cast for his purpose, he's supposed to portray a wannabee boyking trying to act though.

Yeah, Eva Green's awesome.

I'd hit that so hard whoever pulled me out would become the king of England...

Wish Starz would've just grabbed the copyrights for The Warlord Chronicles and made a series outta that - would've definitely been more in vein with Spartacus. Very Happy

Not that this doesn't have potential, either - hopefully they won't get rid of James Purefoy too soon, he's great as always.

Warlord Chronicles would be hard to pull off. They would need to pull off an accurate dark age setting and properly cast Derfel and Arthur etc. Also, I don't think the Spartacus "stylized" format would really work with one of Cornwells novels.

I heard they are doing a film adaption of Cornwells Azincourt, should be interesting to see how that turns out.

Well if it were up to me they'd do a movie trilogy out of them (with a 4 hr extended edition treatment like with LOTR!), and yeah even as a tv show, if done properly it'd be more in vein with Rome - the serious tone and such. Still, I'd prefer a Spartacus-style show out of it rather than nothing at all. Wink

Hopefully Azincourt does well enough to attract more interest in Cornwell's other works as well (apart from the Sharpe series, that is).
