Ripping movies from a BioWare RPG for crying out loud! We felt
we needed to step up and give you this release with downsampled
vids and ripped demo's. Here is the real PROPERLY ripped DVD5!

does anyone knows how "downsample" the movies are?

Thats right. I havent played much of this group's release though. This game is very long so I didnt have the time to go through it all yet. Maybe someone who had more time and got further can report if there are anymore dam downsampled videos.
Also, I'm surprised noone thought of downsampling speech yet. Video obviouslly contains more space than audio, right? But in a sense, theres lots of audio/speech in this game. All you have to do is delete the demo, rip the languages, downsample just enough speech from certain parts so that you can understand the full story, or you can relink the speech, doesnt matter. After that, the rest is up to you. You can also rip a few more things out so it can fit onto a DVD5.

Err downsampling audio instead of movies?? That's worse! Usually there won't be a noticeable difference when you downsample a bik movie to ~50%.

so....................how doansampled are the movies, i know someone has it by now.....
i really want to know is it good, not errors and watchable, i just want to be able to see and hear the vids, not too bothered about really seeing the great graohic sin the vids etc. as long as i can understand everyhting and follow the story with the vids.
so lmk , if they are really ad i will prob buy it.

downsampled movies r fine think vcd compared to dvd and if u can watch a vcd then ur fine

They do it all the time in the PS2 ripping scene. The fact is, you all want to keep your movies. I cant tell you what to do, except to tell you to rip what you want. Why downsample a whole movie to %50 when you can downsample some speech/audio that wont be missed at diff parts of the game? That would be the equivelant of %50 of the .bik file. You dont honestly believe this whole DVD9 is made up of just videos, do you?

So you didnt see any movies missing? From my play I saw maybe 1-2 downsampled.
