the logo resembles the "Nazar". It's an amulet that is meant to protect them against bad things. But recently they fucked up so badly...looks like it doesn't work for them ^^.

Aside from the fact it clearly shows where Crytek's priorities lie, I don't see why it's that big of a deal that DX11 won't be available at launch.

In dx9 it already looks pretty good, if you disable their temporal AA solution. (And in the leaked beta the game wasn't as blurry as the MP demo for me... the filtering wasn't annoying at all)

Most of their dx10 effects in Crysis 1 were bullshit anyway (as in artificially locked), and they're now present in their dx9 renderer.

And how do you disable that ?

Didn't JB write how to disable "postMSAA"? I assumed it works, although personally I haven't tried it yet.

Part of the blur is also due to the HDR haze effect (Was it r_Glow=0 to disable that?) and the depth of field info inside each specific level or rather it's "Time of Day" (ToD) settings.

Here's the post I did with the comparison of Post-Processing MSAA and as seen it does show a difference but it's nothing major if you are seeking to disable all of the blur stuff the game uses.
http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1417492&highlight=post-process#1417492

EDIT: SSAA failed though, game reverts back to the latest used fully working and supported resolution which I found out later.

EDIT: Truck front (Grill especially.) and nearby trees (Vegetation "density") show it best, it's a very subtle effect actually.

Well, ConDump didn't dump r_ things at all, so, I suppose, all those cmds was blocked/removed as well. Haven't tried tho, I can't play the demo ;P

I'm really enjoying the demo, nothing like having issues connecting to games or sitting in a lobby watching the countdown repeat itself.

Crytek FTW.

Am I the only one here thinking this?

"If Crysis 2 does not sell more than X" (Let X be the amount of total sale of Crysis) Crytek is going to blame piracy and not the fact that it has been consolized? Of course I'm talking about only the PC sales.

Can anyone explain why on maps 20x20 meters , you can be a sniper? They should add artillery strikes as well...

These days being a sniper is about running around as fast as possible and shooting without using your sight while jumping.

Fuck, this is a horrible mp demo. It is basically watered down cod in hopes to grab the same audience. Some of the problems I had.

The map is TINY. Why give us a map where we cant stretch our legs. It is so cramped, that you are in a firefight the second you spawn, which basically boils it down to a fuckfest of team deathmatch. It is such a farcry from crysis 1 mp, which was a good mp game just full of fucking cheaters. Instead of improving on it, they go and copy cod map design. I really doubt the full game with have expansive maps with vehicles like we had in the first game, but we can only hope.

I think there is absolutely no correlation between where you are aiming and where the bullets are going. I watched kill cams and the guy is just shooting in my general direction, yet somehow still kills me. The overall feel of movement and shooting is off. Shooting doesnt feel rewarding, and they borrow the recoilless guns from cod.

In crysis graphics are everything so for once we can be graphic whores and be ok with that. But this game looks generic. Absolutely nothing is spectacular looking unlike in crysis 1 mp, where I spent a long time in the beginning just admiring the graphics and small details, also taken in the account just the sheer size of C1 mp maps. And my friend, shiny bloom, is still prevalent to make the game look "next-gen". Who knows, maybe with community mods the game will look amazing, but nothing will change the shallow gameplay.

Shit, and bf3 is many months away.

I think the shooting feeling "off" is due to the auto aim horse shit. I turned it off in my options but I'm sure most other players didn't, or don't even know about it. That's why you'll see people making retarded shots that shouldn't have hit you.

maybe developers should also make some efforts with their graphic engines, huh. Look at the shit of the last New vegas DLC or Medal of Honor, but oh surprise, Bulletstorm has astonishing graphics with incredible video effects while performances on "normal PC" are not affected, just a so good blast before Crysis 2.

theres like a 25 fps in decrease after changing from gamer to hardcore, the light effect does take up a lot of frames.

And better global illumination, higher polygon count, less pop in and you can see objects far away much earlier.

Gamer looks very good and performs really good! (ok well... besides that fact that the maps are tiny tiny tiny!)
Hardcore looks amazing and still performs very good! (higher quality comes at a price)

Ofc while running around and shooting one wouldn't spot the differences immediately Smile Except for the popups Smile

Meh all people do is camp while cloaked and shoot you in the back.

And it's especially annoying if they have nano vision.

I played a game of "secure the pod" or whatever it's called and I alone secured every freaking site while the rest of them played hide and seek with each other. >.>

On the plus side I haven't encountered any cheaters yet while the Beta is plagued with them.
