It still doesn't matter if it's only for pads. It shouldn't be anywhere in any MP game.

Don't the other MP games that support gamepads have aim assisting on?
I can't imagine offering gamepad support, but not assisting the aim... Then the gamepad would be pretty useless as you wouldn't be able to shoot shit, wouldn't it?
So what happens in all the other games?

Ah, and that's fine, we just enjoy different games.
But this is Crysis 2 MP, not COD MP. Did you play the original's MP? They were quite fun tbh, aside from the no cheating protection which assured they would suck. But instead of building on that, they go with a bad clone of a shit game (COD; IMO).

Been posted?
Quote: | “Piracy is a real concern. The PS3 has been cracked now as well and people are downloading PS3 games and 360 games are being downloaded so that’s a threat to just the industry in general. For us specifically, it was a very traumatic experience because we’re really excited about the game and the quality that we were able to get into it and what we were able to accomplish… …We’re at the end and we’re really excited about where we’re at and your game gets leaked. And it’s not even that the final version of the game gets leaked, you know? |
Quote: | “Oh god, that was terrible. We went through all the phases of loss in the office. Afterwards it was denial. ‘No, this isn’t happening. No, this isn’t true. Oh, this can’t be happening.’ The whole denial phase of it. Then angry. ‘WHO DID THIS? How did this happen?’ People saying like, ‘He’d better not come to the office’ It wasn’t an employee but you know, whoever did this, whoever was Patient Zero. If I ever find this guy… |
edit also Hans Zimmer's involvement is confirmed I guess:
The awesome music that we created that’s also on the internet for download now. We had announcements that we were gonna make with the talent that we worked with – we were so excited about that.

I doubt that anyone who thinks like this actually has the brains to download and play the game, but I guess you never know.

I remember there were the derp-pirates (I request iNatan to make this -> wear an eyepatch and call it "derpirate") that downloaded the early leaked version of Batman: Arkham Asylum and due to several triggers that weren't removed they couldn't properly proceed after some point in the game and raaaaaaaaaaaaaged on the internets (TM) that the game has serious bugs and they are not buying it because it's obviously a bug-ridden console port.

"It wasn't an employee" Oh... really? I guess it was those horrid PC pirates, breaking into your offices and stealing the HDD that contained the beta code. Right?

No, it could be like the Doom 3 Alpha leak by Ati. Still it's Crytek's fault, for not protecting it properly.

So to confirm, no one knows how it was leaked?

Horrordee, WE don't know. If Crytek knows, they ain't talking.
However if the person works in the industry and is found it's guaranteed he won't work in anything related to game development ever again.

I'm sure that crytek either did it (small chance, but it's possible) or knows who did it.

lol so I can see you all seem to hate this, I still cannot really see why. The MP having things like perks and a ranking system are all good elements of COD which I don't think make it a bad game.
iNatan (and others), are you of this opinion after playing the singleplayer? As I said, I've not and will not play the BETA leak - but is it shit? Is it as good as Crysis / Farcry? Should I stop being so excited?

IMO the SP was good.
Good as in much better than most of the recent military shooters campaign, which doesn't really mean that much.
My biggest problem was going back to Crysis/Warhead after I've finished it.
The suit powers we're extremely derped down(or is it up ), no way around that.
And I really can't understand why.

Well it's always about expectations. After matrix 1 I expected a really good matrix 2. For me it felt like the worst shit ever produced! But a lot of people enjoyed it and even people that liked matrix 1.
Tastes are different. But the MP from crysis was damn awesome! Big maps with drivable vehicles is just pure awesome! That's why battlefield was always so great! And now some people fear that it will become like COD.
I'm not sure what the people in here think about the BFBC2 MP but I didn't like it that much. The whole aiming stuff and no recoil is a real gamebreaker for me
Just making the MP cheater proof AND adding those collectible stuff would've been ok too... but in the current mode it's too CODified. I still like it, but it could have been so much better, especially when the predecessor already had such a good mp part

Ah well I never played Crysis MP - so maybe that's the problem. I have tried and failed to get into Battlefield and I just find the size of the maps, and the 1337ist players overbearing. Thats why I like this MP here - I know it, and the nanosuit brings good fun to the table.

Horrordee wrote: | In what way are they up/down then? | The speed power is MUCH slower, the strength melee is gone (unless you want to see all of your energy gone) as is the reduced recoil you got when using it, cloak depletes slower and a melee attack while in cloak no longer consumes all of your energy leaving you exposed and armor mode is MUCH more resistant to damage.
Out of the top of my head these are the biggest changes.
Oh and I really don't care much about the MP (didn't tried the one from the original anyway).

I hated it at first, now, after many rewatches, I like it very much to accept it as a worthy sequel. Of course it's not as great as the original (aka my favorite film of all time )

Logic says if they were interested for publicity they would leak the first chapter or two, not the WHOLE game + multiplayer + editor + Solidshield keys + tools/middleware they used.

It's too bad the actual code didn't get leaked though. That could have been interesting.

The game is fun ...i really loved the SP leak, tough i refrained from finishing it.
The MP was also fun...for about half an hour, then i started getting bored, the tought of mindless killing was always in my mind...soon after i basically turned off my brain and shot everything that moved.
The same goddamn thing happened in Black Ops to me,after i got all the guns i sold the game for a 10th of the price just to get rid of it.
Its pretty clear that DEVS these days are trying to capitalize on the hooks that COD has multiplayer wise...but the problem is that with every game that incorporates it it gets diluted ,you simply don't care to come back for more of the same .
Ive always wondered how a game like Counter Strike could have such a lifespan and fun factor at its age, with so little in the area of "Rewards" .
I have reason to believe that the COD formula will follow the same path as the Guitar Hero formula ....it lacks essence ,its beauty is skin deep (or how the hell do you say it)
In the end,im not blaming the devs or calling it a derpification, the game clearly is done by talented people, they just lack the briliance that other legendary devs had before them.
