Do these performance problems with very high settings exist only with nvidia graphics cards? My Ati 5770 runs it well.

Seems so, yes.

Personally, I haven't even started playing as I don't want to ruin even more an experience that seems already in pieces.

It doesn't say, but you can gauge it depending on where you are. For instance, Act II starts...

You are obviously in Act 1 in that case. I've played it for 11 hours and I'm still doing the side quests.

There is no introductory cinematic for the dog? Laughing

Oh well, I'll continue playing without Robin Hood and with an ugly dog.

You take that back, Barkspawn is the best dog ever and his animations are really cute.

Also there is an introductory cinematic, try talking to him while you're in your home.

Sooo, the Decrypter made something with the game that it tries to connect to the EA server all the time. I get freezes which follow up with an "Server connection lost" ingame, even though I didn't login into my account. Everything is "unchecked".

Are you using the latest driver? I am having no problems at all on max settings... If you do not have ver: 267.24 then give them a try. There on the nvidia driver page under the beta section. I have 2 nvidia desktops that I play this on, PC1: GTX570, PC2: 8800gtx and both work just fine.

I blocked launcher and main exe trough firewall and it only says lost connection while i start.No ingame massages.

That can happen even without decrypter. Game always tries to connect to the net (to add news and stuff), even if you uncheck everything. And if your net connection is bad at that moment, gave would freeze for a bit, and you'll get same message. Same happen with demo too.

My solution: block DA2 executable with firewall (outgoing connection). You get instant message on game start, but no loss of time.

Took me near 34hrs to get to that point, missing NO exploration or NO quests (though one got bugged out, seems the PS3 version is buggy as all hell)

It took me 22 hours to finish everything in act 1 according to the savegame stat, close to fifty quests or so (Some do include the premium content.) and I explored every area over and over which kept discovering new things, beating up thugs and exterminating their hideouts, companion stuff, finding lost items and returning them, rumors, bumping into new quests as others got finished or progressed to certain parts and so on but I think I did everything, later ones included the Qunari even though you would have gotten them anyhow as they're part of the main story I think, or so the quest log has sorted that stuff.
(Including find the Band of three codex entries and all that.)

(Exploring was a huge part of this, for example a mountain area was blocked off via a purple shield/barrier filed but bumping into it summoned a shadow warrior that dropped a unique longsword, would have missed this if I just did the basic quest there, shame so many areas look alike with just minor variations such as blocked off passages or minor texturing.)

I have to say though that combat took a few of those hours, nightmare gives enemies a lot of health and resistances and you beat this group up and midway reinforcements arrive from all sorts of places or their boss type variations start spamming abilities or using potions so progress was really slow at some parts of the game due to this artificial challenge increase by just spamming thugs all over.
(Rogues are actually very problematic, enemies that knock you around or use special abilities must also be hindered such as the common shield bash or pommel strike ability.)

Group based attacks such as fire spells or the whirlwind attack helps a ton though, balanced party is key though I try to experiment due to the fun nature of companions but on balance I use warrior, rogue and mage but again some encounters are funny when discovered though it doesn't always trigger so I keep exchanging companions often, leads to huge build ups of rivalry or friendship in certain quests though if some of the more sensitive ones are brought along which is hard to balance and predict.
(Buying health potions and support items is useful as well, merchants don't restock potion type gear though so discovering resources and the like is useful once the initial supply dwindles down.)

Is that area unlocked later in the game?

Anyone else having issues with Exiled Prince DLC? I installed/used the v2 activator but my save-game was already midway through I think Act 2 (not sure where the Acts are labeled). Anyway, I had already picked up a single mission from the chanters board that I have yet to finish.

Basically, the initial cut-scene with the new party member triggered, but then I couldn't click the chanters board to continue the quest. The ! is there, but it's un-clickable. Bug?

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

@blackeyedboy

I doubt we'll see 80. I'm 44ish now (subtract around 2hrs for loading screens, I shit you not - the PS3 has loading screens upto 2m long) and almost at the end of Act 3. I'm not sure about Act 4.

@Aeternum

Yup, the entire game is just one retread after another. By the time you've opened up Bone Mine, you've seen every single new piece of territory the game has to offer. Houses are copy/paste... dungeons are copy/paste... caves are copy/paste. Really poor design.
