PSN might just be having issues for certain territories, but I doubt it.

IMO,it's too early to tell if Sony really 100% fixed all exploit. we need more details what Sony fully did there,I can't believe they are not using the old keys at all.

It's always worked like a charm for me (once I sorted the port80 stuff) it only stopped working yesterday after the maintenance was done. No biggie, I'm using Team Rebug's 3.60 PSN Spoofer now and that works great! ^_^

They are, they are using the good old lv0 that we never pwnt (remember metldr is loaded by bootldr & lv0). Basically, they just gave up one fort and moved back into the last secure one.
I doubt they made a deal with geohot, no need to be a genius to have the idea, I myself was wondering if it was possible to embed all loaders into lv0, and it seems it is...

ok after clarify things.
seems they didn't block the NOR flasher with metldr keys... well they can't. they just manage to "secure"(for now) 3.60,we can still downgrade... but not "hack" 3.60(at the moment)current PS3 models can't be unhackble, basically, but sure can have high roadblocks.

I've just updated to Kmaew 3.55.
How do I get a FTP working? Everytime I try to get my IP address, it'll say "Obtain IP Address: Failed", so I tried to set it to manual. When I use Multiman, it shows the IP address I set it to use in the bottom left-hand corner, but everytime I try to connect it won't connect/connects for a bit, and transferring files will stop straight away.
Thanks.

Useless post from me, but I believe that the PS3 wont remain unhacked, and because of this, whenever 3.60 (or any future firmware from now on) will be pwned, which means lv0 pwned, then Sony will be completely screwed up, because lv0 was the only thing they could change with a firmware update. So I guess it will motivate people to hack the last step to the real master key.
Remember, it started with LV2 with psjailbreak, then loaders before it (fail0verflow) then metldr before these loaders (geohot unknown exploit)... Every time a step of their chain of security is hacked, they go protect better the step before it, making sure we cant access the step after. Now, if lv0 is hacked, there is no step before (well there is, it's bootldr, but they can't update it, it's static) so... That's their last chance to protect 100% their PS3, else they will go back to kicking people out of the PSN i guess

I am on 3.41 and using a PSBreak V1.2 and Open Manager (very early one), I haven't taken any notice of what's been happening since the early rush.
I have a 1TB external with many games on but a lot of them don't work, cos they are internal games only.
So if I buy a internal drive, and get it updated with the latest Multi man CFW will I be able to run my games I already have on my external drive, and how do I transfer some games from external to internal !?!
And a extra question about newsgroups,I've never used them before cos I never had a credit card but now I do, I would like to know what is the best one to get?? and how do they wrok !?!
Thanks in advance |
To answer your questions, Multiman is not a CFW. What you would be doing is getting the latest 3.55 CFW (of your choice, most seem to be using kmeaw) and the latest version of Multiman. The steps would be first of all disconnect your console from the net to prevent any accidental updates to an OFW higher than 3.55. Next, perform a backup from the PS3 to any external device of stuff you want to save. You then swap out the hard drive for your new internal one and using a thumb drive with OFW 3.55, format the drive to work on the PS3. Guides are available in plenty of places.
Once you have OFW 3.55 working on your PS3, find a guide for installing CFW 3.55 of your choice. Once that's installed, use .pkg loader to install the latest version of Multiman - note that you will also need to find the BDEMU.bin pkg file for Multiman versions higher than 1.16 to work properly, but once you've installed bdemu.bin once, you shouldn't need to run it again.
Within Multiman, you just browse to the file you want to copy from your external to your internal and press the O button - it will ask you to confirm that you want to copy the file to the internal drive.
You may find however that multiman is actually capable of running them from the external.
As far as newsgroups go, I use astraweb and pay $96 a year for unlimited. I would also use in conjunction with NZB sites as more often than not if you just blindly download a bunch of files you found browsing a group, you'll find at the extraction stage that they are password protected and want you to fill out some stupid survey to get the password. Most NZB sites have rules that NZBs with passwords may not be posted.
IF I'VE MISSED ANYTHING, PLEASE REPLY AND I WILL EDIT MY POST.

I'm not talking about private keys, who cares about private keys, they wont be needed if we can exploit lv0, we can directly patch the need of private keys.

seems the new "unhackble" protection is Indeed depending on the bootloader keys, and if I'm right, some hackers(like geohot already have them...) and as far as I know, those keys are pretty match obtainble... at least a lot more practical then then the New private keys.
