i changed my mind, am not buying the game on release, ill buy it in a sale deluxe editionwhen all the crappy dlc are out for 8 euros or something and only if there are mods. ETW and Napoleon all have been huge let downs, i just hate this engine. its simply not fit for melee combat.

And yeah, I already downloaded Kingdoms off of Steam as I eagerly await more Roman bad assery. Though at this rate, Rome 2 will be out next year probably.
darthmod DMUC is the best mod for empire, give it a try , he is alteady at release 6.9, thats more relaeses then stainless steel who are at 6.4 for medival 2 ( my favorite med2 mod)
all modders deserve respect nonetheless. Sega fucked them in the butt with the empire engine not getting modding tools, cause they wanted to make 2 more milky pispoor games out of this junk engine and modders werent allowed to get in their way.
I meant melee, cause shogun 2 is all about melee but the demo really killed the hype for me, it looked butt ugly and copy paste , no love whatsoever for the era.
Similarly to Crysis 2, DX11 won't be available at launch. It will be patched in 2-4 weeks later.

They are good APIs, from actuals coders I have read very few complains while many praise them. Also many emulators now use DX10+ because it can do more/better/faster stuff and hell now even Carmack has been converted: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1441290#1441290
But they are hardly ever used (properly), for a couple of reasons, one is consoles, another is the Vista fiasco/FUD campaign..
Now that Win7 has been accepted as a gaming OS and companies have to start to worry about making their graphics engine ready for Xbox 3 and it's DX11+ abilities, you will see more and more engines and games incorporating DX11 features (like Epic did, or like Capcom explained making PC games might not be very profitable for them, but for example by adding DX11 features in Lost Planet 2, they gain experience that will be valuable to them when the next Xbox launches).
