I agree with Leo, the show did take a turn to the worst the last two eps or so. It's too much drama centric now, while the first few eps were all about survival. It's probably me though, I expected the show to be different than it actually is after the first ep. Finding his family so early was a huge mistake imo, I'd much rather have one guy trying to survive than a group of people bitching at each other.
Where did I complain about there being drama? First episode had plenty of drama, certainly more than action, and yet it was fantastic. The finale, on the other hand, had that cheesy drama that cable shows usually have. Awful.
I think he meant to say that drama in itself is ok to have, as long as it's well done and fits the show. Not the crappy kind that is there for the sake of being there and when the writers can't come up with anything else to fill the gaps.
Just finished Season1...fuck it was aweful. First 2 episodes were great but then it was all fuckin drama like in Soaps. The season finale was prolly one of the worst ive seen. Usually, season finale end with you screamin "holy fuck, come on. noooo, have to wait 7 months before knowing what happened", with Walking Dead, show ends and all you have to say is "meh".
Now you know why they fired all the writers and needed to restart for Season2. Anyway, I actually enjoyed all of the 6 episodes of Season1. Following the comics as expected but hoping for a few twists to give itself a new personality of sorts.

Not enough pew pew pew for Kommando.
Not enough commies for Kommando.
Thats getting old you know.
Also, its a fuckin Zombie serie. They are like one of last group of humans not infected so instead of shooting their way out for survival, they make a character whine, bitch and cry cause he cant butfuck his friends wife cause he is not dead as he thought he was or lets make 2 episodes about a guy who beats his wife....So yeah, its fuckin Soap drama and it doesnt belong there.
When i watch a porn, i expect some major fuckin and blowjobs, not people talking on a couch..same goes to Zombie shows, we want to see some heads bashed in with a shovel.
Personally I loved this show (or rather, at least the first season that we've seen so far) I *love* that it's not all about zombie killing and blood and gore. Post-apocalyptic dramas are amazing, I just love seeing how the survivors cope. We've got more than enough zombie kill-a-thon movies/etc doing the rounds, it's nice to see one that focuses on the survivors rather than the body count.

Try the comic then.

I've already got up to issue 81, but I didn't want to read too far ahead and spoil the secrets of the show. The comic is always going to be the better medium, so I'd rather UPGRADE to reading the comic -- than downgrade to watching the show
I have a feeling season 2 will have zombies that sparkle and "incredulously buff for post apocalyptic world teenagers." If they want to change everything from the source material they might as well shoot for the head.
Seems like a fellow nfohumper has left a mark on the site already.

An advertising firm apologised today for placing a billboard for a TV show called The Walking Dead on the side of a funeral parlour.
The unintended, “unfortunate juxtaposition” caused raised eyebrows in Consett, County Durham.
The roadside advert for the Channel 5 post-apocalyptic drama has since been removed from the exterior wall of the Co-operative Funeralcare premises, and an alternative has been pasted in its place.
A spokeswoman for Clear Channel, the firm responsible for the billboard, said it was sorry.
“Clear Channel apologises for any offence caused by the unfortunate juxtaposition of this advertisement, which was certainly not intended,” she said.
“We arranged to have it moved right away and it has now come down.”
