MotorStorm.Apocalypse.PS3-SweeTpS3

Description:

Once again, the most brutal off-road racing festival is back, and this time the 'Stormers are bringing the extreme MotorStorm® festival to a major metropolitan city ravaged by a gigantic earthquake. Developed by Evolutions Studios exclusively for the PlayStation 3 (PS3), MotorStorm: Apocalypse brings back the signature MotorStorm racing madness but this time the racers must deal with the unpredictability of a crumbling urban environment. Filled with unstable skyscrapers, fiery subway tunnels, twisting bridges, and collapsing buildings, the almost completely abandoned city offers the perfect playground for MotorStorm's electric brand of brutal street racing. Fully customize your collection of vehicles, including supercars, muscle cars, and superbikes, and face down your fellow 'Stormers as well as a city where destruction awaits you at every turn. With tremors and aftershocks continuing to hit the city in real-time, players will be faced with making quick decisions in a landscape on the verge of total devastation. Welcome to the apocalypse, MotorStorm style!

Features:

* Pick and customize vehicles from no less than 12 classes (assume there will be more than 12?), with supercars, muscle cars, superbikes, choppers and more now added to the legendary mix of MotorStorm classics.

* Take part in more than 40 unique races, with tracks changing for each visit.

* Survive staggering and epic real-time destruction effects - everything from machine gun fire to rocket attacks to earthquakes happening as you race.

* With 3D support, immerse yourself in the race as every crash and explosion come to life right into your living room in stereoscopic glory on your 3D TV.

* Battle friends with 4-player split-screen, or take 4-player split-screen online for even more racing mayhem.

* Deep online features including intense 16-player online racing, sharing custom car designs with friends, and creating and sharing totally new game experiences with the incredible Game Mode Creator.

I'm not keen on having to use the decrypted EBOOT method, but I guess it's worth checking out. Apparently no >4GB files either, so external weee! ^_^

as long as there's no other choice it doesn't really matter imo. Not going to wait for the preteen PS3 scene to make CFW 3.60 before i try the games Razz

Really? SWEET! Thanks mate, that'll save some space... I'm down to 50GB free out of 1TB >_<

Too bloody right! I may not like the EBOOT modifications, but to hell with denying myself a game just because of some petty dislike Very Happy

Yeah, I noticed there are doubles of every video... specifically for 50hz and 60hz TVs. I assume it's safe to remove the 50hz ones if you're running on a HDTV?

I use a PAL system + HDTV and removed 50Hz videos, the game plays fine with cinematics ! Remove credits.avi too, it takes 700MB and it s just credits... Replace it with some logo to be fine.

All done and done, removed the vids and it works perfectly. It also DOESN'T need the 3.41-3.55 fixed EBOOT either... so I'm really not sure why it even exists. Updated to 1.01 and it runs just fine =)

The game itself is outstandingly fun! I'm having an absolute blast playing this, it's so much fun driving through smashed up scenery ----- though I can FULLY understand why Sony has delayed it for compassionate reasons.

And this game shows (again), how dev are lazy to compress their video cuz bluray "is da shit !"... The game itself (ms.psarc) is only 3.4GB... while the full game (basically ms.psarc + videos) is like 18GB... pffff

I just tried to run it without doing any changes. Multiman changed the sfo file for me but it still crashed out when trying to load the game (Error 80010017) so not sure how you got it to run without changing the eboot?

Edit: Although changing the eboot over, it still picked up the 1.01 update, installed that and it's running fine now Cool

Is it just me or are load times horrendous? Just finished a race, it took 4 mins on the loading screen for it to finish and go to the next cut-scene Shocked

I'm wondering if it's because I deleted the 3D and 50hz movies and it keeps doing some kinda check...

Hmm, well I installed the 3.55 fixed EBOOT first - as was instructed - but then I immediately tried updating to 1.01 and it worked just fine. I figured either the 3.55 fix wasn't needed, or perhaps the 1.01 patch only required 3.55 Very Happy

Oh and no, no loading issues here running from external.

Weird. I've copied the full game with all the movies present, onto my external and it's still just taken 3 minutes from finishing the race to it showing the next cut-scene. That's compared to the ripped version on my internal.

The game itself is tons of fun, I love the levels and the layout of the tracks but the wait between races is killing a lot of the fun Sad

Yep, for some reason 1.00 requires 3.56, but 1.01 doesn't ! Hopefully Sony continues to FAIL like that when 3.60 games are out Smile

and how is the previous one? I find this immensely fun, and if the other PS3 one is atleast as good then it's certainly worth a download.

it's basically like this imo:
motorstorm 1: gfx showcase/tech demo, good fun, but horrible AI
MS2: beats its predecessor in every way, adds variety, great soundtrack, overall excellent game, good MP too
MS3: the derp version. the cutscenes are laughable, gfx are not bad but nothing special, driving models are bearable. having fixed vehicles for every race sucks balls, as do about half of the tracks. the other half is rather good tho, especially if shit goes boom Very Happy

but yeah, its the worst in the series. can't blame evolution studios for trying something new, but it could have been far better.
