You can try BattleLAN or some other LAN emulator but it's not really worth it since the game has piss-poor netcode. The game will most likely get out of synch and you and your friend won't see the same things on your screens. For example a unit of cavalry might be 100 meters to the right of your battleline while on your friends screen the same unit might be 500 meters to the right...
