Guys...are you running the game on medium or high?

It seems that the games uber graphics is to much for my 5770. Turning anything above Medium makes the frame-rate plummet. Only problem is it looks like shit compared to origins although the isometric view probably helped.
From what I understand DX11 is the culprit but higher graphics settings require this renderer. Truly amazing what they did with the graphics. I hope a patch or a newer driver will improve this shit.

I can run the game perfectly fine on High with my 5770, but Very High fucks me up.

I wonder how game will run now when i have 4GB of ram. Lately one of my memory stick died and I've had only 2 GBs. Well... you could thinks that's enough, but you are absolutly forking wrong.
I was wondering why this "game" is "shuttering" so heavily... task manager...Audiobg.exe = 1GB.... W00T.
1GB = W7, 1 GB = Audiobg.exe => 1+1=2. So whole game was in teh swap and was "shuttering" like crazy. I wonder what will happen now, as I've just received new sticks...

Using latest Nvidia drivers 257.59 + mod inf gave me a huge boost.
Look for them on Guru3D forums. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=340704

The patch 1.01 doesn't fix anything usefull. No questfixes, no perfomance improvement, so why bother with it?

The fuck...

I'm playing on nightmare and some fights take me even an hour to pass them, mostly involving running and shooting my bow when far enough(rest of the team long dead), and so long EVERY fight looked like this, usually involving shit getting smashed all around me in attacks of pure rage. Now I went into bone pit and shit, dragonlings and a small dragon, they died fast and I didn't lose anyone, wth. 5 minutes later mature dragon - shit, I'm too weak, he died like a little bitch in 2 minutes, didn't lose anyone nor used a single potion.

The game's balance is fuck way off?

Nightmare sees a increase in resistances and other boosts plus with friendly fire enabled abilities can easily hit nearby companions (Even for warriors and rogues, Varric likes to throw that flask thing for example and so on.) bows still do the most normal damage (Upwards of 150 plus what you might have for dexterity bonus.) but I assume physical normal damage is most resisted along with additional armor and the like and the slow firing speed and character vulnerability means you need to use teammates to work trough most encounters, most encounters being unfair and spawning waves of enemies is also problematic. Smile

Anyway yes the balance is a bit skewed under nightmare mode to present a greater challenge along with having friendly fire enabled.

Playing on Nightmare and it's not so hard, didn't switch difficulty ever. I play with Avaline as full tank, so all sustained modes that reduce dmg etc. I play with 3 archers, Me/Varric/Sebastian. The dmg they can do is really high. Crit chance is like 90% for my Hawke atm.

When I had to fight the anicent rock wraith i had bethany as healer and it took a while. Didn't really have any long fights so far and im quite far in act 2. Im not using any cc almost, only the snare. I unlearned flask from varric since the stun on teammates. I don't use any AOE aswel.

Some bugs? Some sustained modes say they arent able to be used toghether but when u click the other mode before the first one has finished casting u get both anyway. Like precision+speed.
The black emporium potion that allows you to respec is a bit bugged also? I keep getting backstab and the other one in dual wielding even tho I never take those.

I wonder what bioware was thinking when they decided to copy&paste almost every location. It's so fucking lame that they didn't change a thing in them. It could be understandable if those locations were on par with DA:O but no, they look like crappy cardbox scenography in elementary school play, the whole game looks like made in 2 weeks with budget of 2000$ which were spent on blow and hookers. This game should be added free to cerials or something. My tiny mind boggles WHAT THE FUCK they were thinking, I'm simply amazed...

Haha true, lower the resolution a bit and there's not much difference to Final Fantasy XII. In fact, FFXII looks even better! And it's a fucking PS2 game from 5 years ago.

Plus Deep Roads, where every area was pretty much the same. This is nothing new for Dragon Age. Dragon Age Origins had a world about as empty as Dungeon Lords. I still enjoyed the game though, as I do this one... the only thing I can't stand about this one is not being able to zoom out. Twat move by the developers.

It is kinda funny, but areas in DA2 mostly remind me of ME2 (in open). Probably due to higher res. textures, compared to original DA (playing DA2 with HR pack).

Mussolinka there are two tricks for nightmare, if you want to have fast fights, and feel powerful enough: concentrate on sustainable damage, 2 hander warrior with vanguard and two hander skills - fenris is great for those lyrium ghost stuff, that add huge damage. Use at least one rogue all the time, but preferably two. Archery is insane damage, so much so, that a crit-sebastian build makes most my fights trivial. For bosses take stuff from entropy, and the really good spells are the lightning and blood mage aoe damage ones - of course stagger first.

Fighting in choke points eliminates getting surrounded by mobs, so do that, and your two hander fenris will facepawn everyone in the vicinity. Throw in a walking bomb for good measure, and it's done.

The game on nightmare really doesn't favor activable damage talents, because they sped up the game, cooldowns are pretty long, and sustained damage from crit/cunning builds is way overpowered. Sure, on normal a mage AOE takes care of groups of mobs, here they don't even notice, unless it's a cross class combo.

My party: fenris, isabella and sebastian (me as mage) - we have a really easy time on nightmare, and my mage doesn't even have healing - truth be told, I did have to take anders to the high dragon fight, because of the homing AOE fireball of death, when he spawns the adds.

Easy and dull game, is my final opinion, with little choice in combat, and how you build your character.

ME3 will have one gun and one suit of armor because Bioware doesn't want to confuse players with something as complicated as an inventory.

Nah, he will shoot directly from fingers, erm, but wait, he has 10 fingers, so he will have 1 finger only, so not to confuse people.

If you say so. Denerim was so laughably amateurish that it kind of ruined my opinion of the "art style" of the game. But then again there are some areas from Origins I liked, like the first area where you meet Prince Cailan and the surrounding swamp. Also I was much more drawn in by the story and characters (Allistair and Morrigan were great) of Origins than this game... but for the most part I think the level design of DA2 is better. It's a decent RPG I'll be playing for a couple dozen more hours.

All armor in the game is only for the main character, if you can't wear it - sell it.
