This is a flight simulation not some crappy first person shooter in the sky like Hawx and others.Totally different genre here and not for the faint of heart. The graphics are impressive to the flight sim crowd because they are much improved over IL-2.For those that have no clue,Storm of war is its successor.
Thankyou for trying to explain but I do know what il2 is and I have been playing it for a long long time.... The thing I asked about is "are Storm of war: BOB and Il2: Cliffs of dover (witch is being released on the 25th of march) the same game?" I didnt folow the news on this lately and I dont know which is which
Thanks,I had no idea it was retitled.Well it does make sense.Storm Of War did not really fit.
Regardless I think we can all agree its something we all can't wait to get our hands on.We don't get very many good flight sims very often. Now that my TrackIR 4 has died after 2 years of use I have just placed an order for Track IR 5.Intend to replace my aging Saitek X-52 as well.Gonna be good times coming soon.

"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
one thing i noticed in that interview and vid, the sounds are identical to sturmovik, I am dissapoint Oleg..
one of the main things people wanted was updated sound set... we had to have mods to get that with great difficulty at first as well.
very annoying if it stays that way..
umm as I recall Oleg said that the sounds we are hearing in the videos are placeholders for his new "hightech'y" sound system... lets just hope for the best
new video of a dev playing the game! OMFG I sence some kind of leak in my pants From that footage it is clearly visible that this is the GOOD, same, old IL2 Sturmovik just on steroids and better!! (dance)
Friday is releasedate in Moscow, i know it's english version. RoF released much before in russia than other countries, so i bought RoF from russia, works flawlessy.
Anyway, preordered mine from steam, but there is over a week time to spend to nothing
If you have http://store.steampowered.com/app/63970/ on pre-order once it's available in any region the Steam://install/63970 command should work to install it, unsure if the game uses Steam only but if so then the RU release would also make this command work in two days or so.
(Might shorten the time you have to wait.)

Unfortunatly Oleg has gone down the path of the rest of russian developers and this sim is nothing but show off now and nothing like il-2 the original game which included a dynamic campaign like all sims with respect for its self in the old days had.
This time is updated grafics which Im sure is pretty but like the rest of the russian sims released in the last 4 years it gets boring real quick.
Without Dynamic campaign as usual this sim wil be nothing but boredom.
Can't believe he went from an awesom dynamic campaign in the orignal to just include 2 static campaigns.
This is like the rest of the russian sims a no go for me. Developers are getting lazy!!! which is a shame.....
It's a browser command you use as a normal URL, Steam://validate/63970 might also work.
(At worst it'll be 63979 with 9 being often used as a placeholder until the actual game is released, this is a empty container and won't download or install anything when triggered.)
@JBeckman: Do you know if the lack of support for the Ati 4xxx series is true or just a "bad speculation"? It's a shame it it'll be confirmed to be real, since I'm looking forward to this game :/
