Yups! got the chance to take one Airbook for myself at 800 US, pretty cheap for that sexy paper - like notebook...

BUT... is it any good? does last long? (i bought a regular macbook for my girl some 4 years ago and no problem so far, with regular crap use...

i wonder if the ibookair it's reliable... i would use it for work, pretty lights at weight.

any trustly info? Razz

you're paying for looks, low weight and macfaggotry if you buy one, not processing power Laughing

a few of my friends have one and yeah, battery lasts long enough (4 hours or so), just don't expect to be able to do anything with it except office/web stuff with it

Buy yourself a decent laptop not mac shit...

All the ppl on my uni (professors and assistants) bought themselves a macbook. My prof from quantum mechanics said the other day: don't ever buy a laptop that requires a different adapter every time new upgrade comes grinhurt

All Apple notebooks have the same MagSafe power connector, you could interchange power adapters.

@kumkss: Unless you plan to do 3D rendering or video encoding on it, MacBook Air have more than enough processing power in it.

Rolling Eyes
It has a Core 2 Duo at 1,4 GHz. Unless you're looking for a electronic typewriter stay away. It will most likely not be sufficient to watch high quality youtube videos.

If you don't intent to use any other software apart from Word and are willing to pay a ridiculous price ($800 for that is a sick joke in 2011) you could consider it. But expected to be shocked at how poor that thing performs as soon as you try to do more than just writing.

<-- proud owner of a 1.4 GHz Core 2 Solo Cool Face

I got it for free though, and even then it would've substantially cheaper than any MBA will ever be. For web browsing and such it is plenty fine, and even using shit like Visual Studio or Photoshop is fine..until you start compiling something, at which point it takes ages to get it done (720p @ Youtube is fine btw, still haven't gotten around to trying out 1080p) Smile

Don't recommend it, and most certainly not at Apple's fucked up prices.
