Anyone else playing this? Couldn't find a topic for this so yet.
Looks pretty dull, but who knows!

Is the game any good? Is it like The Guild?
Downloading it, but still curious to what it's about since all I've seen is a 1 min gameplay video months ago.

Is it .exe or .ex_ if .ex_ rename it and if it's something about not a valid Win32 application it's a damaged (Or at worst infected.) exe file from some less secure download, unless it's just your AV solution blocking it.
EDIT: I'd PM you the original launcher and exe files (Unaltered of course.) but you wouldn't be able to patch then as they're updated and thus no valid patch will be found since the game thinks it's already updated.

Mine loads up fine after patching and cracking etc. but the options screen wont stay open for me to set my resolution and AA etc. It pops up for a second then closes fast. Dodgy crack or dodgy game?

Crack is for 1.00 so if you updated and then applied the nocd the game is a bit wonky due to using older code I guess, unsure though but it's a mismatch.

Aye that would make perfect sense. I'll un-install and try again. Looks like the patch fixed and added quite a bit though, I'm really tempted to buy it as I'm not ashamed to say I spent quite a bit of time on the sims 3 hehe. Only thing holding me back is if this is actualy going to be any good or not. The sims castaway was a good idea but the actual game was a bit poo i thought, hoping this is not the same.

Game uses a one byte cd-check from what I can see from comparing 1.00 and 1.00 cracked so the patch should work just fine as long as you keep the image mounted, mini-image should be easy to do as well.
(Same as Sims 3)
|
Has someone already released a mini-image, or are you talking about making your own from a legit disk?

No joy with keeping img mounted and patching the game to 1.01, I get the "can't validate optic disc..or sumtin" error.

Standalone, it's a new game, not an expansion for S3.

I'm probably asking for too much since this a Sims gane, but bear with me: since they introduced quests or so they say, does this game expansion have RPG elements? Is it worth it?

Meh, at first you got me interested with the DOS reference. I'd especially like to know wether you actually get to participate in those quests or if it is just like jobs in The Sims - if it were more like a RPG, I could even consider giving it a try.

That's what I thought at first as well, it seemed great but it's probably nothing like that and more simplified and casual laid out I assume since it is a Sims title.
Haven't played much though, waiting for the 1.1 update due to the extensive amount of fixes and additions so I can't quite judge the game itself and give a good opinion.

From the EA faq (yeah, well):
Quote: |
* You will then choose a team to complete the Quest. You’ll choose a team leader and a supporting cast. That’s an important choice because Quests will have many different ways to be solved. Maybe you’ll want to use magic or medicine or prayer to cure the king. It’s up to you.
* Once your Sims are working on the steps within the Quest, you’ll face many challenges. You might have to craft items, enter into combat, encourage people in prayer or find a rare spell book. You will simultaneously have to fulfil the Responsibilities of the Sims on that Quest. For example, the physician needs heal sick people every day, and the blacksmith needs to craft swords |
Doesn't sound too bad. I especially like the "multiple ways" to complete quests - provided it ain't marketing bullshit, of course.

This game sounds more RPG than Dragon Age 2 (not that it's hard )

It was piss easy to crack it. Analyzed the pattern which Reloaded did and applied the same on the 1.1
