The exe does not alter like with SecuROM after activation, it's in the activate.exe process already.

Strange though as I could activate just fine yesterday yet people say it's release date checked but if so why would it work here.

PM me and I'll send the exe and activate.exe and related files (Original of course, not cracked or something, not that I could do that anyhow as Tages/Solidshield is a pretty tough protection.) should you want to test it anyhow.

Also you'd likely need 1.1 installed first for convenience since that's the update I use and the patch only affects activate.exe, that other file for activation (XML?) and the game exe. Smile

They're packed with a form of zlib archiving or what it's called, not encrypted as such from what I know, still having them decrypted as with the beta would be ideal, nothing really to gain from protecting them like that.
(Having the console fully active would be nice as well.)

Hmm, that might work and yeah as you say a unpacker would be needed to access the resource files in that case, scripts and other commands would be difficult due to the many engine changes but the basic levels have the source files in the beta and might be possible to back-port like that with some work. Smile

EDIT: Some progress is being made with unpacking.

Well the problem is that the editor from the Crysis 2 beta crashes with Blue screen of death. I tried it on dell studio 1535 laptop which runs Windows XP SP2 with hacked drivers, because its a Vista laptop. Have you any idea why its BSODing?

Just a little discovery. If you are in EU and cant activate ur legit game - use Limited Edition key (one on piece of paper) - works like a charm ^^.

Not at all.... i guess the protection is not related with modified files, instead i think it has something to do with a server.

Or perhaps they can, but it's just nuisance to do so (lot of triggers, or other time wasters). If I knew how to crack I would definitely avoid bypassing such protections (or crack it only once just to show I can do it).
