I'm probably not alone in thinking geohots merely the scapegoat now. I still think sony had no choice but to sue, as much to save their own blushes, than in any vain attempt of deterring someone trying it again in the future.
The moment sony learned of the manner of the hack they probably knew there was no going back, but can't be seen to do nothing. They could at least have counted themselves lucky their console wasn't hacked before the xbox360 which had come out a year and a half earlier. That really would have been embarrassing.
however playstation products always become a whole lot more desirable once they are hacked (and not just for the games) in my estimation. This I always bear in mind, whenever a new system is announced by them. not bad news on all fronts Sony.. :/

okay I guess that should have read "not just for the free games" as it obviously drew the wrong conclusions.
A hacked cfw psp is a fantastic handheld, because all that untapped potential was foolishly left locked up by sony and it took the hackers to bring it out. A modded playstion 1, well mainly just let you play copied games but it also enabled region lock bypass on games too letting you play japan imports. The same can be said of a ps3 now.. see where this is going?.
As for game preferences thats just down to everyones personal tastes. Playstation brand has a wicked back collection of games i think.
