huh? you had to get an invitation...which was fairly easy to get ok, but now you can just sign up and play + you don't have to pay the 30$ just yet, it's still free as of now =)

huh? you had to get an invitation...which was fairly easy to get ok, but now you can just sign up and play + you don't have to pay the 30$ just yet, it's still free as of now =) |
hehe, so what your saying they are still running a beta even though the game is available for purchase as a release ?

It's a pre-purchase. They set that up to keep their heads above water. The game has actually become incredibly popular, so it costs them more than just development costs to keep it going.
@ Moose: Welcome to multiplayer? 
Every MP game has power tripping wankers in it these days, especially those with some form of rating in them.

Don't buy it if you are not a DotA veteran. You will not enjoy your first 100 games (100 games is very optimistic, morelikely to be 200) of feeding and your teamm8s raging at you.
The learning curve is very high.

The referrer will receive in-game currency if you buy it through that link. Only cosmetic changes can be bought with in-game currency, so you will get the full experience with 10$ for sure.

LoL is more forgiving, easier for new players to step in. Moreover it is free too (provides limited gameplay, but enough to get an idea of the game)
HoN is really designed for DotA veterans. A lot of dedication is required if you are new to DotA/HoN. If you want to get a quick fun experience, than HoN is not for you.
I would suggest LoL in your case.

It's comparable in a way that they are both dota clones but Heroes is a much 'truer' adaption..from what I remember its basically dota, new icons, new item names and they flipped the map |
its much more than that, matchmaking, reconnecting , voting, new heroes, items , graphics and stuff, its still dota clone but far superior
