The SP campaign looks very scripted indeed (maybe too much?), but at least there will be ~12 hours of gameplay (according to DICE tho), which is almost three times the typical lenght of nowadays shooters (Crysis 2 excluded)
BC2 also had a short campaign if I recall correctly, 4-5 hours..let's see, it look promising so far.
not looking forward to playing the same level they keep showing,so far it's mostly scripted shit.
& why is your player not the leader of the squad,is it for the derps that need someone to show them which linear path to take.
need to see some mp images ffs,not like it aint a mp game or anything.
at least if they don't release a demo or open beta with free keys i'll be able to pirate it & use the sp as a basic testing ground before handing over any cash .
"Scripted shit", " Shit looks too scripted", "I'm not playing this because it's scripted to fuck".
What the hell is wrong with you people? Like I said elsewhere on these very boards, welcome to pretty much EVERY video game ever made. How you think a game will work without scripting? Nothing would happen!
Tell you what, a challenge. Name a video game that doesn't have scripted events. I'm not saying they don't exist, but the list has to be a raindrop in the flood of video games released in the last, say, two decades.
Then, shut the hell up whining about scripted single player.

Please.
Totally agree, if something is scripted its fucking nfohump
@Maus0r: I think it's because many people (me included) are getting tired of all these uber-linear FPS with zero innovation; I agree with you that scripting is perfectly fine, since it helps delivering a good plot and also enhance the involvement factor, but it should be noninvasive
and well integrated with the mere gameplay imo, and almost all the recent Nexgen FPS have terribly failed at achieving this concept. It's 2011 ffs, it's time to try something really innovative instead of proposing the same old CoD-soup!
What people have a problem with is being told what to do.

Half-Life is a good example of good scripting, you are free to do what you want whilst an event plays out in most cases. With Alyx she follows you not the other way around. Yes games are scripted (duh) but it's gotten to the point where its less of a game and more a cinematic experience with some limited user input.
Ixigia and Kyorisu you both make good points. I hate being hand-held and led down a singular path, and a lot of modern titles are guilty of this. What I have a problem with is people moaning about something they don't fully understand. Scripted events in games add drama and eye candy and if used properly are a benefit to a game, rather than a detraction. BF3 will have scripted events/scenes, just like tons of other games. I guess it's just how they implement it that will matter.
To just dismiss a game because 'OMG is scripted shit" is immature and petulant.
