@qwebob: Yep, no (official) DLCs on PC:

Quote:
Q. Will there be DLC on PC this time?

A. Just like before, DLC will be limited to PS3 and 360 only. The reason is feasibility: there’s no good way of supporting PC DLC from a marketing standpoint.

Absolutely right. Smile I don't see why people should care about these minimalistic DLCs whereas the modders out there deliver so much more. Smile

anyone with issues with framerate should check cpu and gpu usage
q6600 at 3ghz
480 on stock speeds

gpu rarely above 65% suggesting a cpu bottleneck
however the cpu is only being used at about 60 -70%
core 0 at 25%
core 1 at 90%
core 2 at 90%
core 3 at 25%
in game fps are at average of 50fps
1900x1200 everything on max with in game AA disabled
no visable stuttering
no input lag
however if they could distribute the cpu threeads better i shouldnt have an issue with getting an average of 80-90fps with those graphic settings.

i kept an eye on the cpu with task manager(itself a resourse hog)
and gpu with afterburner both running on a second screen

ill be testing later with a lower res to see if it helps but im not hopeful as the gpu is not even used properly as it is
ill probably check with pushing the 3ghz upwards to see if that helps but if it does it still a code threading issue within the game
it wouldnt be because the OS still reports the cpu as a 2.4ghz as that seems to be what the game is topping out at in usage overall ???

Regardless of what yu have been saying, how can one turn this piece of junk into fullscreen on 1280x1024 ( windowed mode automatically activated and cannot be disabled ) alt + nter does not work.

So there's no way to unlock the Limited Edition cars ?
I don't care much for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, but i'd race the hell out of the Nissan Silvia and the Lamborghini Murcielago.

Latest beta driver from NVidia 270.51 got me quite smoother framerate, and it has been reported to do wonders in Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 as well. Seems like Nvidia finally got around to using our cards' performance for something. Which is great.

Any graphical glitches I had disappeared and now the framerate is much smoother.

Still, can anyone post an advanced settings configuration for XBOX 360 controller that works? The more I seem to fiddle with those settings the less I'm able to control the car, and mind you I have lots of experience with racing games, but either I get the cars to feel too twitchy, or too unresponsive. Any proper config in a screenshot would be much appreciated.

nogrip forums are probably the best source of info on different controller setting, at least a lot of debate going on there

i played this for a painful 13 minutes. if you're not into racing games like me, it is absolute torture to spend any amount of time with this game. Crying or Very sad

i feel like a dumb ass driving in a circle -- not very fun. Rolling Eyes

one would find more entertainment in watching paint dry. Very Happy

anyway, graphic is nice. i can see the dirt smeared on your windshield or if you're in 3rd person vehicle view, floating in the air. didn't think that through did ya dev? Wink

it supports xb360 controller but none of the on-screen indicators shows xb360 buttons. so you're on your own to figure out what keyboard key corresponds to your xb360 button. Sad

i couldn't bring myself to get through the first tutorial. i managed to finish one lap before i let go of the controller and just let the car drive into the dirt. this was mainly due to shear boredom setting in. Embarassed

next! Laughing

Well like I said, I haven't really fixed it 100% yet, but the key is basically:

One thing you should try though (if you're using a pad of any kind), is heading to the game's installation folder and then ControllerDefaults\PC. Take whichever preset you used off read-only and change DampeningEnabled="1" to DampeningEnabled="0".

Dampening gives you a 1:1 input. I just need to figure out the optimal ratio between sensitivity and speed sensitivity; supposedly 50% sensitivity with dampening disabled gives you a 1:1 movement with a wheel (90 degrees on the wheel = 90 in game), so perhaps that's a good starting point for us on our puny pads as well, assuming pads are limited to 120 degrees or something like that.

playing reloaded version on Q6600@3.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, R4870 1GB and its always between 25 - 35 fps which is too low for such graphics (compare to GRID and etc). Also game looks very choppy even on 35fps, definitely it doesn't feel fluent. The input lag -slowness- is unbearable and unplayable with my Logitech rumble pad 2.

Is anyone else having these troubles? All of my friends with ATi cards have the same feeling. Have anyone played original (bought) version? is it same? If it is, that's the one of crappiest game I ever played and also it's one of the biggest lies EA ever produced. Thank you.

ok guys, I have a solution for laggy input

1. go to ...\SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED\ControllerDefaults\PC
2. open the configuration file in notepad (the default one for xbox 360 controller is called vehicleset_pc_xinput_default.xml)
3. look for DampeningEnabled="1" and change to DampeningEnabled="0"
4. save the changes and re-load the controller profile in the game
5. profit?
