turning off AA ingame and maxing everything in the ATI Panel, Edge detect morphological filtering 24x, Super sampling AA makes the game look rather nice I"d say.. Really good actually.. Night and day really. And also changing the XML file, to fix the Dev's fuckup up with the grafix... Try this for the XML file, of course have the reolution at whatever it is you run the game at... Now getting my wheel dialed in right, that's another story, lol. Still working on it.

You mean to say that you can set the settings "to 11" by hand in the xml file? That EA hides the highest settings from the regular menu?

@ BLuNT: you just globally forcing it or using RadeonPro? Haven't gotten around (or rather, haven't felt the need yet) to try it 
As for the sensitivity settings on a 360 pad: 50% on all sensitivities, 10% deadzone on steering (left thumbstick) and 15% on brake/accelerate (triggers) is what I'm using at the moment. If a car doesn't respond like I want it to, tuning will fix the problems, but as far as INPUT RESPONSIVENESS goes, those settings work best for me. Obviously a shit car like an Elise (I'm sorry, but it just doesn't handle very well IRL either  ) will still require a fair amount of tuning before you'll have it the way you want it (then again, everyone has a different style).

I can almost guarantee that'll be the driver doing something odd. That's some optimisation gone wrong if it occurred less frequently (but did occur) with the previous driver

Funny thing is I can load up any other game and the graphics aren't acting up in them. For some reason Shift 2 gives me proper graphics only if it's the first thing after a restart. I really don't get it.

Seems if you input higher numbers to the XML, they turn to _LOW_ ingame... So with #4 in the XML they are turned to _HIGH_ ingame.. ALso if you just enter high ingame, the XML #'s are 2.. Odd But in reading that it what it seems to be, for me as well. And as I say, it's a Night and Day differance. Also if you change envmapdetaillevel to 4 it sets reflection to _LOW_ ingame, so I have it at three, says high in game.
And Yes I force the graphic change globaly in the Catalyst Control Center, for those of us with Raedons... And from I read it works with Nvidias too in their control panel.. Give it a try..

848x480 @ low settings -> 30-40fps
1920x1080 @ medium-high settings ->30-40fps
wtf?!
Systemspec:
Athlon II X4 - 4x3.0GHz
2GB DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD4850 (512MB)
Had the same with TDU 2... but there it never went above 25-30 fps.

The engine sucks so badly, im getting on my system around 40 fps -.- On highest settings.

@Breezer_ How is that possible? On a non-OCed 480, I get constant 60.
Did you by any chance force some AA through nHancer or nV CP? I saw that kill my FPS.

Capped at 60 FPS with a stock i5-760/6950 and 4xAA (edge detect) forced through RadeonPro here
What driver version are you both running? That'll be the big difference.

Original Shift didn't have music either. You are thinking of "Durrum dum dum, durrum dum dum dum; 3,6,9 damn she fine hopin she can sock it to me one mo time; get low, get low, get low" yo yo Underground crap. 
If you care about music so much, why not put a music player in the background and hit play when race starts?  |

Being a racer grounded in reality it suffers from "Gran Turismo Syndrome". You played the previous game to death, awaited the launch of the sequel to get some new material and then you find out that 75% of the content has been recycled from the previous installments. Back to grinding the same old tracks again.
I usually play sim racers until I'm ~25% into the career. By then I've seen most things that the game has to offer and I move on to some story based game instead.

Really enjoying the game. Only thing that really bothers me is how they fucked up drift. I mean, it doesn't belong in a game like this, and I personally don't think that it can be considered competitive because it's just as subjective as the Olympics (requires great skill, but there's no objective means to judge just how good you are), but they fucked that up royally here. All you need to do is manage your throttle, the countersteering is done for you

Well, i'm enjoying the game, cause I didn't actually expected it to be the "most realistic driving experience".
The only thing bothering me is V. Gittin; i don't mind him being fat, self-taught, or Formula D champion (hell, maybe he really is a good driver IRL), but his voice lines are really annoying : "You looked AWESOME!", "Green, green, green ! Nail that first corner!"

Anyone bother to finish it ?
If you did, what the best out of the F1, Veyron, Hyuera and CCX ?
I'm at 25% and want to complete all races, it's a bit annoying that some cars become unelligeble for cetain races once you upgrade them and then you have to downgrade and crap like that. I have a AE86 and didnt do the upgrades that said that were going to change the car's class, yet still i can't join certain races.
Cars handle like a bowl of water though, weight being all over the place and thus handling becoming unpredictable, imo Shift1 handled better (didnt have any lag or input issues).
Graphics aren't the greatest, night driving looks great though.
