There was story in every MK game, even MK1, 2, 3. It was usually played when the game was left alone and no koins were inserted. It was usually a silly exposition about the general story behind MK and the characters. But all these games have had a canon ending.

Awesome game! Haven't played MK for such a long time in a while now. The X-Ray moves are amazing. Level of gore is totally amped up. The pre-rendered cut-scenes are a bit dull, in terms of animation I mean. The best part is the combos are simple to pull off and doesn't need a bazillion button presses to perform a combo. Heck even the Fatality is easy to pull off.
A few questions:
1.) Is there no Brutality or Animality option?
2.) What's the right time to perform Cage's X-ray move? It's a part of counter-attack right?
3.) Does anyone find the sound output of the game to be very low? I have to literally turn the volume up to more than 3/4 of my speaker volume knob, which usually is extremely loud for every other game and PC sound output.

Yeah, but at least there's only ONE Scorpion. Sub-Zero is a friggin' brand name, ffs. How many times has Sub-Zero been killed now? Always replaced by his brother, or his cousin, or another Lin Kuei member >_<

HAH! See what I mean? Don't get me wrong, Sub is a great character - but come on! All that's missing now is a Cyborg Sub-Zero (and if the Lin Kuei would have had their chance, there would be a Cyborg Sub)
