Isnt a pc gamer who preordered entitled to Portal 2 ?
"No!" said Steam "The game is available at launch"
"No!" said Valve "The game is first played by the elite infected"

I just wondered what this is based on..
no matter, I can wait till tomorrow
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

This is a brilliant marketing ploy, getting millions involved and spreading the word, making Portal 2 the biggest event in the history of games (in the 2010's+). And they never promised anything (they just released some images and had some indie steam-games modded) and most likely had no plans on releasing the game early for the masses, it was all about marketing. Brilliantly done Valve.
Still 10 hours 43 minutes to release which fits with the 19th of April release date.

Not to mention the fact that a load of indie devs got much deserved attention and revenue, they've probably benefited the most here

I agree that it was never their intention to release it much earlier.

Not exactly, they did promise "Help release Portal 2 early! play the 13 indie games...
you can find it at the top of the page at http://www.aperturescience.com/glados@home/ To me it looks like the gaming industry has hit a new low, because it quite clear by now that even if the game will be released early it will be just a few hours. For some one that is excited about Portal 2 and wants to participate in the ARG its simply not worth for him to buy the potato pack and gain a few extra hours.......

Anyone that bought the pack believing that it would help to release Portal 2 significantly earlier deserves to be scammed.
