@ consolitis: exactly. But it gets even better, unlike most games (and most specifically UE3 ports) you don't only have proper control over your mouse sensitivity and acceleration. If a game has no way to turn off acceleration, I won't play it, because I seriously hate it - I have no idea which retard came up with the idea of acceleration, but I can't stand it. Hell, the game even lets you choose whether to rely on the Windows driver settings for sensitivity or have the game handle the mouse input directly. Obviously that's ported over from the consoles
And for the record, a FoV of 90 is higher than any other game ships with by default, at least to my knowledge. And like I said, above 90 creates the fish bowl effect, which noone ever uses except those of us who played one of the duel games seriously.
@ human_steel: I know, just want to show a few bits a bit further on; none of the puzzles or anything, just some shots of the insanely improved level design
So here we go, 1080p/8xMSAA (just fully maxed out, basically, although it can still be improved through the console) in glorious PNG format. Jaggies only show up in the thumbs because of me not applying a proper resize algorithm

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be disappearing for a while
Quick edit before I do: capped at 60 FPS obvious (VSync), still good old Source running smooth as hell

it's weird, Crysis 2 SHOULD have so great graphic. But no, developers were lazy.

They weren't lazy, they were greedy. They wanted to launch it on consoles too and spoiled everything with this decision.
ONTOPIC: The game looks great, can't wait to play it.

Giantbomb:
Quote: | Despite being so much bigger than the original, I actually felt a little melancholy once Portal 2 was over, simply because it's so rare to find a game this smart, this funny, and this rich with detail. It elevates Portal from an odd, memorable experiment to one of the most significant series in Valve's stable with a unique voice and an incredible level of quality that all developers should aspire to. |
Eurogamer:
Quote: | Portal is perfect. Portal 2 is not. It's something better than that. It's human: hot-blooded, silly, poignant, irreverent, base, ingenious and loving. It's never less than a pure video game, but it's often more, and it will no doubt stand as one of the best entertainments in any medium at the end of this year. It's a masterpiece. |
Videogamer:
Quote: | A mere ten minutes here will yield more memorable moments than you're likely to squeeze out of the entirety of most other games this year. In all aspects of its design, Portal 2 is genius. |
Very strong words! It's already being called the game of the year and one of the most memorable games of all time.. I can see it eventually surpassing HL2 as the highest rated (96%) PC game of all time.
I wish I could play it!
