"If there's anything that's killing us [in the traditional games business] it's dollar apps," he lamented. "How do you sell someone a $60 game that's really worth it ... They're used to 99 cents. As I said, it's an uncertain time in the industry. But it's an exciting time for whoever picks the right path and wins." |
Hey Epic.. I think can help you! Those that buy 1$ games.. they do not care to buy 60$ games.. They never cared and they never will... So what's this nonsense "how do we attract those customers too"? How about you don't?? Stay focused making the games you make, you know???

In terms of their quality, maybe, but in terms of the effort, manhours, money that went into them I wouldn't say so.

Considering they have released only 1 SP PC game (Unreal 1) followed by 4 MP focused games (UT, UT2003, UT2004, UT3) I'd say it was always their belief.

When the PC in this tiny box with it's easy to use OS got released. The thing with the Microsoft brand and the "X".

Uhm, was Unreal2 developed by Epic? I remember it was made by some other devs.

Hm.. "awesome".. are you serious or joking? I can't tell.
I didn't really like it (never finished it), but it wasn't really developed by them.

I'm being serious, hence the lack of FACE or SMUG or LOL... I thoroughly enjoyed U2, though I'm sure I'll get shit for that as well, liking more "trash" apparently.

I enjoyed it too back then. Wasn't a bad game and the graphics (especially some textures) were awesome.

I tried that two times I think, but it seemed so boring, nothing made me venture further into the game.

Unreal 2 was definitely a good game, with some incredibly satisfying weapons (ie the flamethrower in the Hell level), excellent graphics and solid old-shool gameplay. |

Unreal 2 was really good but it was not as good as I expected it to be  Read about it in so many gaming magazines and was a little bit disappointed

I know but I don't count their earlier PC games (which are mainly: Jill of the Jungle, Jazz Jackrabit), because they were of a quite different era and genres.
