Hm, the EU version seem to lag behind a bit. The latest news they have is that it was delayed in Europe and they enabled a few earlier events to help with the wait.

Anyone still playing this? I just decided to dl the client and start as f2p player, though, I'm planning to get the expansions atleast when they're discounted (missed one 75% discount a week ago), or if I find the lotro compilation package for 10-20€.

So... anyone playing on European servers?

Yes I just played for about 45 days as minstrel. Enjoyed it a lot. But not sure I will go back to it for a while. Epic huge game world. Lots to see and do. The auction house is fun. Glad I stuck with it through the first ten or so levels which were the least exciting.

I did enjoy playing but there are some things that wore on me after a while. Namely the gameplay is basically the same throughout (minstrel). When you progress to new areas, it's the same basic formula in the new area. I guess WoW and other MMO's are like that too.

Playing on a US server. If you want to advance levels fast, do as many quests and tasks as possible. Turn in the highest level tasks that you can and you'll get more xp. gl hf

i ditched the game pretty quickly actually.. i just didnt like the combat. maybe i was doing it wrong, but it just didnt feel as smooth and as straight forward as id have liked, so i just dumped it.

probably for the best too... i know how big of a time-sink these games can be.

I've played LotRO on and off for a few months in the past but dropped it due to lack of content. There just isn't enough to do in terms of endgame and there's a lot of pointless grind. Still worth playing for the storyline though. Most atmospheric MMO ever, even rivaling many single player RPGs.

It took me till maybe lvl 15 till I got used to the combat and it works well now that I am. True that there are so many games these days that dumping a game is so easy to do...

I wonder if they ever made the monsters ( pvp) relevant in this game, or are they still only considered a gear check for raids ?
