Terrible title. Yeah let's make them the bad guys for making it DRM free by saying they didn't do it to please their customers but to catch the pirates.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

It's not totally DRM free, just through GoG. My guess is that they're simply doing it as an experiment. Sell it with and without DRM and see which sells better. But the numbers will still be skewed simply due to a volume issue. Still, it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

What? Do I really have to clarify?
It really only started when big name publishers implemented draconian measures like install limits and whatnot that people went on the barricades and now "will pirate coz of DRM" is a meme even if a game has just a standard cd check.

Well no shit sherlock, people only started complaining about DRM when it became an issue. Duh.
Next you'll tell that people started complaining how retarded games have become when the games became bad.
Edit: You must be from Mozer Rasha, where they slap you with that shit rootkit Starforce on every EXE that comes out of crappy East European publishers and mostly developers, so for you online check is like a blessing.

Point was that people cry about DRM even if it's a simple cd check.

Well these people are just idiots then. But complaining over trialware and always-on DRM is legitimate.

Anything you can connect to, can theoretically log your IP and track you.

Cuz i was thinking that usenet will be harder, as 1 uploads it to 1 server, that gets spread around other newsservers and you basicly loose track of it.
Is that about correct?
Instead of having 1 tracker like a torrent logging the IP's that connected to that tracker.

Indeed, usually corporate America is usually after the uploaders rather than the downloaders.
However, I still believe one of the top security torrent trackers are the most secure because they are always under lockdown.

you can still hide behind proxies, but be certain that there are at least 7 proxies, 5 of them in either China, Brazil or Georgia, to protect you, anything lower will most certainly log your ip.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Meh, CIA can write a GUI in VISUAL BASIC to track you.

The more people they have on a single keyboard the more effective they are at repelling hackers as well.

Idk what all the fuss and hypocrisy is about. DRM, no DRM... who cares. It doesn't matter.
If the game is good, it will be bought. Same as it was with TW1.
So stop crying and pointing your fingers at others... it's disgusting. Since all of you downloaded games and it doesn't matter which one. Just because you guys feel somewhat "more" connected to this game, doesn't mean other have to do so as well.
For example DA2. I never would have paid for this piece of shit and I DL'ed it. But I preordered TW2 because I never would pirate it. Because I'm sure it will be good and I think it's worth the money.
All I'm saying is, some people bought DA2 and some people didn't. Same goes for TW2. But who are we to point at others?
